This Gand shot and damaged the assassin droid. He quickly shifted his aim and caught the dark lady a glancing blow that was not as effective as he/she thought it should be. Something was defiantly off about this Sith. Targo shot at her also but missed. Cal shifted back out of the darkness and fired at the downed man some twenty meters away but missed. Jihahna then blasted the droid and this time it exploded!! Kacela moved back out of the darkness and takes some cover by the stairs as she tries to be defensive. Reks moved out of the darkness following the dark lady.

Who suddenly bursts forward, racing up to the prone man, grabbing his lightsaber and rushing back towards Reks almost instantly!!! She slashes at the young Jedi twice and scored a minor wound against him, but his Force Resistance softened the blow. Then Jihahna felts invisible fingers grabbing on her. While they were not as strong as those that grabbed Cal, she felt herself being grabbed by them and some minor uncomfort as they tried to squeeze her. The prone man then stood and fled into the pillars where he disappeared…

GM: Initiative This Gand -24 The Dark Lady -23 Cal - 22 Malonnu – 17 Parlex Dornith – 16 Jihahna - 15 Gall Hsloth -13 Sith Mark III Droid -11 Kacela - 9 Reks – 8 [sblock=Results and Rolls] This Gand hit the droid, then hit the Dark Lady for 7 damage (1/2 from Resistance, bring her down to 55 HP) Targo Attack roll and damage if he hits: 1D20+6 = [9]+6 = 15;3D8+4 = [6, 5, 4]+4 = 19, I forgot she was Dodge so he would have been at disadvantage but a 15 still misses so no reason to roll again. Cal moved out of the darkness and missed a shot at Gall or Dark Lady (only ones visible). Jiohahna shot hit and destroyed the droid Kacela moves out of the darkness and takes the Dodge action. She also has ½ Cover (+2 Ref) Reks uses his Bonus Action to try and Sense Surrounds to detect Malonnu (he is doing the same thing on his turn), Use the Force skill check: 1D20+5 = [5]+5 = 10, fails. He moves out of the darkness then and then 6 meters towards the Dark Lady. He takes the Dodge action for his turn. Badguys turn, The Dark Lady uses her Surge ability (no time/action), Use the Force skill check: 1D20+5 = [18]+5 = 23. So she gains +30 to Stealth (Athletic) checks and gains +12 meters to her Move (so it is now 24) until the beginning of her next turn. She moves 6 meters to grab Gall’s lightsaber (he does not resist) and then moves 14 more meters to get into melee combat with Reks. She then attacks him twice (she gets +2 to attack and damage vs. Jedi), Attack roll, damage if she hits: 1D20+9 = [9]+9 = 18; 2D8+10 = [4, 1]+10 = 15 1D20+9 = [14]+9 = 23; 2D8+10 = [4, 3]+10 = 17. Forgot she was at disadvantage as Reks was Dodging this round. So only the second one might hit, disadvantage: 1D20+9 = [11]+9 = 20, still one hit for 8 damage (Reks also has Damage Resistance up right now, bring him down to 29 HP). Also, remember she and Reks are now in melee, so unless you have Precise Shot you are at disadvantage to ‘shooting’ at her. Malonnu uses a Bonus action to Sense Surroundings, Use the Force skill check: 1D20+7 = [14]+7 = 21, he made it so he ignores the darkness around him. He is going to use Force Grip on Jihahna, Use the Force skill check: 1D20+7 = [10]+7 = 17, then Force Point (added to damage also): 1D8+1 = [1]+1 = 2 for a 19. Barely makes her Fortitude Defense so, so you take Bludgeoning damage: 2D6 = [3, 2] = 5 (+2 because of his Power of the Dark Side) 7 (3 with Grappled, i.e. Move 0 and bringing Jihahna down to 41 HP). He is maintaining the power. Parlex uses his action to Hide and move. As he is back and there is a LOT of blaster fire I am going to give him Advantage on this roll, Stealth check: 2D20.HIGH(1)+6 = [1, 20]+6 = 26, oh that’s a nice spread, so he moved somewhere but no one knows where right now. Gall stands (1/2 move) and Moves 6 to the pillars and then uses his Action to move again to go to Full cover behind some pillars for Full Cover. The Dark Lady is 12 meters from the stairs where Kacela and Jihahna are. She is 20 meters from where this Gand and Targo are. Malonnu is 8 meters from Kacela, Reks and Cal and in Heavy Obscure. Those with User the Force can make a Sense Surrounds check (Bonus Action), otherwise you are at Disadvantage to attack him. Gall is at least 30 meters away under full cover. Parlex is at least 20 meters away from the stairs within the pillars and under full cover AND is hidden from all of the heroes. You can make a Wisdom (Perception) check vs. his Stealth roll of 26 as a Bonus Action to try and figure out where he is.[/sblock]

whirr jumblely-hum "Very chaotic," comments the gand, biting down on his re-breather as the nobleman makes his escape, Reks is heavily beset and his dark-haired friend is hoisted up into the air.

clicketty mumble whirr-drone whirr click "Can Kacela do something about that?" she asks, gesturing to the levitating ex-merc, current padawan. guttural jumble drone, clacketty-hum "This one will try to help elsewhere."

Rushing forward, she starts... dancing with the dark lady:

Jihahna sighs in disappointment at Malonnu... Her voice only slightly squeezed, she still speaks with relative clarity.
"(*Gasp)You like that do you big boy? Here's the problem with your, (*gasp) party trick..."
Taking a glow-rod from her belt, she breaks it and drops it on the ground, Malonnu lit-up in the dim light in the process, Jihahna's helmet doing the rest.

"(*gasp)As you can see, your power did next to nothing to me, except hold me still, but that doesn't stop me from (*gasp), shooting you now does it? Observe..."

With that, Jihahna fires two solid shots that connect with the Sith, the first solidly striking him in the chest, causing him to release her as he stumbled back in pain, the second striking his leg.

Able to breathe now, Jihahna steps on the edge of the glow rod, bracing herself, readying himself in a defensive stance.

"See that's the problem with the dark side. In the name of your desire to be malicious and flashy, you've sacrificed common sense!... SNAP OUT OF IT!"

Cal leans out from cover and fires at whatever he can see in the direction of Parlex and Gall. If he can't see any targets there, he holds his shot until someone appears.

Kacela let her breath out, wincing at the pain from the wound in her side. That would need treatment later. For now though, she could focus through it. She concentrated and closed her eyes, listening to the ebbs and eddies of the Force around her, much as she'd done a moment earlier. The stone of the passage and pillars...the concentrated gobs of emotions and life that marked each of the people in the fray...and of course, the tangles of frustration and rage and hate that marked the Sith.

What would it be like to live that way? Not simply enduring, but seeking such feelings out; coveting them for the power they could bring?

She couldn't quite bring herself to pity them...but it was an unsettling thought that people would do that to themselves.

Unerringly moving through the inky darkness, Kacela finds the Sith who's using the Force to attack Jihahna. Her lightsaber flashes through the air...though its light is quenched, the blade still burns!

This Gand stood and races into melee with the Dark Lady and Reks, blasting her three times. One of the bolts of energy seems to be absorb somehow but the other two cause her to reel back in pain. Targo moved up not far away pointing his blaster towards where the noble looking Sith had fled. Cal did the same but also was watching where the bounty hunter was last seen. Jihahna pulled out a glow rob and illuminated the area cast under shadows and then blasted the ithorian and knocking him back a step as her bolts cut along an arm and his right thigh. Then Kacela races forward and cut him down with her lightsaber. As he fell she could see the light of hatred in his eyes dim! Reks slashed the dark lady twice with his lightsaber causing some minor wounds as her Force powers seem to absorb much of the damage.

The dark lady hissed at the group as she started weaving about and shaking her head to recover from the pain inflicted onto her. The bounty hunter made an surprise appearance and shot Jihahna twice. Her Force powers absorb most of the damage but she still cried out in pain! Cal shot at the man but missed. Finally the last Sith appeared somewhat closer, Targo taking a quick shot at him but missing, and blasted at Kacela with crackling black energy of pure darkness. His aim was somewhat flowed however and the young Jedi was still standing afterward. Her gift with the Force Again washing the energy away from her!!!

She will use her Negate Energy are a Reaction on the 2nd damage, Use the Force skill check: 1D20+5 = [12]+5 = 17, succeeds. She still takes the 12 and 8 damage and is Reeling because of this Gand’s Devastating attack ability (17-5 =12). She is now down to 42 HP. Targo will also stand and move towards the Dark Lady and the other fight. Takes cover (½ or +2 Ref) and then uses the Ready action in case Gall reappears. Cal takes the Ready action for either Gall or Parlex to make an appearance and then attack either. Jihahna uses her glow rod to negate the shadows and hits Malonnu twice for 20 and 14 damage (bring him down to 19 HP) and sending him Reeling. He needs to make a concentration check to maintain his Force Grip, rolling Concentration rolls : 1D20+5 = [3]+5 = 8; 1D20+5 = [10]+5 = 15, fails. Then Kacela moves into the darkness and slashes Malonnu (not at advantage as he also used Sense Surrounds and could see through the darkness anyway), but she still hit twice and her second blow took him out!!!!!! Reks attacks the Dark Lady Attack and damage if it hits: 1D20+8 = [14]+8 = 22; 2D8+7 = [7, 4]+7 = 18 1D20+8 = [10]+8 = 18; 2D8+7 = [2, 5]+7 = 14 1D20+8 = [14]+8 = 22; 2D8+7 = [4, 1]+7 = 12, hitting her for 9 and 6 damage, bringing her down to 27 HP Badguys turn, The Dark Lady uses her Bonus Action to take her Second wind: 1D10+7 = [2]+7 = 9, bring her back up to 36 HP. She is taking the Dodge Action this round (everyone has Disadvantage on their attack rolls against her) and at the end of the round she makes her roll to Recover from Reeling (DC 10): 1D20+4 = [11]+4 = 15, makes it. Parlax shots Jihahna from hidden location (with surprise), he is also spending a Force Point to use Hunter’s Mark ability (he has 3 remaining; for the remained of combat, if he does at least one damage point he imposes the Reeling condition on the target), Attack (with advantage), damage if he hits: 2D20.HIGH(1)+7 = [16, 2]+7 = 23; 3D8+8 = [1, 6, 1]+8 = 16 2D20.HIGH(1)+7 = [13, 18]+7 = 25; 3D8+8 = [5, 4, 3]+8 = 20, hitting twice and causing 8 and 10 points of damage (bring her down to 26 HP) and because of Hunter’s Mark, Jihahna is now Reeling. Cal shot at Parlax after the attack when he revealed himself but missed. Parlax has ¾ cover (+5 Ref) right now also. Then Gall makes his appearance, Targo (as Gall did not use stealth he does not get to attack from surprise) Attack and damage if it hits: 1D20+6 = [6]+6 = 12; 3D8+4 = [2, 2, 4]+4 = 12, miss. Gall then shots at this Kacela with Force Lightning (and spending one more Force Point to use Power of the Dark side, he now has 1 FP left), Use the Force skill check (with Force Points): 1D20+10+1D8+1 = [2]+10+[5]+1 = 18, bummer!! It does half damage (+3 for the Force Point spent) so, damage: 8D6 = [2, 4, 4, 2, 3, 4, 2, 1] = 22, 11+3 =14 damage (bring her down to 1 HP!!!). Kecala has already used her Rebuke but she can try her Negate Energy vs. a DC 14 (the damage that she would take from the attack). EDIT: Kaclea Negated Energy (with a FP). She negated the damage... Cal cursed furiously. To him, it seemed that their opponents had the upper hand and his performance wasn't helping matters. Taking a deep, calming breath, he sighted down the barrel of his blaster sniper rifle, lined up the cross-hairs on the mercenary, and pulled the trigger.

OOC: Screw it, spending a force point and hoping I hit the dude. This has been the biggest f)*&(*g joke of a series of rolls. Force Point = [roll0] Damage (since I screwed up the syntax) = [roll1] this. My average D20 roll this fight has been a 6.5

Current Hit points are now: 19 (what she had previous to last round) - 7 (half of 14 damage suffered) = 12.

For a moment Kacela swayed. The pain of her wounds pounded against her concentration, threatening her focus. The animal cells of her body screamed a song of fear of death, and it was a hard thing to deal with. Some counseled stoicism; ignore the urges and act as if they didn't exist. Kacela believed that it was better to acknowledge them, and act past them. Her master had said that wisdom is gained through experience, not enforced ignorance.

There is no death; there is the Force.

She believed it. The Force was all life, and through it there was no death. Cut the body away, and something was left of her. And for this planet, for its people, there could be no question that the sacrifice was worthwhile. The fear ebbed, replaced by a calm certainty. The Force was her ally.

Kacela lowered her lightsaber and walked towards the melee where the Dark Lady held the Gand and Reks at bay. Reks in particular was still stunned from their last exchange. She faced the Sith with guard lowered, seemingly open to attack, feeling only a need to shield those in her care, and a distant sadness that someone with this 'dark lady's strength of will and purpose had been brought to this. The true cost of the Dark Side was not just the devastation wrought by those enmeshed in it...it was the good works that would never be done by them as well.

Face twisted in fury, the Dark Lady's lightsaber made a brutal red arc as she lunged. And Kacela held up a hand, palm out.

The Force exploded from her, a thousand hurricanes rolled into one. A solid wall caught the Sith and hurled her back as if a passing speeder had hit her. The wave of power roiled outward as well, catching Gall where he crouched!

(Force Slam! 12 meter cone from the Dark Lady looks like it should be able to get Gall too, but the other one looks to be too far away.)

Use the Force (w/FP) to Push Dark Lady and Henchman: 1d20+10 30
Force point: 1d4+1 3
Slam Damage: 6d6 25
Slam knockback: 2d4 5

Results: Hits Fort Defense of 32 or less, does 25 damage and knocks targets back 5 meters, and prone.

Kacela is one with the Force, and the Force is one with her.
