Throran stands up, soothing his robes as he does so. Before he has time to ask what is going on, he catches sight for the creature, and of kermis fleeing from it. "week willed human" He thinks to himself as he raises his hands and lets loose a spell that he hopes will drop the creature into a deep slumber.

Don't wait for others to post. I'll NPC people if necessary. If you post before your turn in combat, you can simply give some 'if...then' statements regarding actions of others.

Round 1. (con't)
Merlis rouses himself and rolls to avoid the snapping jaws of the beast. Coming up on his feet he sets his fingers in a V shape and sends a blast of color at the creature. The cat-like creature stumbles to its knees, unable to keep its balance, it topples over, unconscious.

(Throran can restate his action.)

Valan stands and puts a hand on Barbaros' shoulder.

Seeing Merlis drop the creature with a spell before he could conjor the magics nessesary to do the same, Throran will look to the others. "So, someone want to kill it before it wakes up?"

kermis, seeing his enemy defeated lunges out and heroically slashes the sleeping creature to bits...then posing in a triumphant stance over the corpse raises his bloody weapon and roars in victory.....all the while glancing uneasily at the rest of the group to see if they notice anything peculiar about the situation

The krenshaw is out for 11 rounds. Thus Kermis is able to get back in time to kill it before it becomes dangerous again.

The group is fortunate to have escaped without injury.

The group finishes the night in peace. The next day is also mostly uneventful, traveling through the forest, leaving all signs of human habitation behind.

The following afternoon, the group emerges from the forest into an increasingly desolate land. Trees thin out, replaced by grass. Grass thins out, replaced by scrub and brown thorny brush. Cracks and rifts split the ground, making the path treacherous.

Barbaros seems to know his way, though, and leads the group efficiently. At last they come to a deep sinkhole. It is about 30 feet wide and sinks into darkness.
