Quarion was just about to tell a joke as the shimmering scales stole the though from his mind. While stunned for an instant, he begins to recover and reach for a weapon.

Sulannus' eyes widen, and she sags in the saddle as her mind is transported by the unearthly beauty of the light before her. Despite her arcane training, her sensitive nature made her more susceptible to such things; her own perceptions worked against her, and kept her in the beast's thrall!

Eyes alight with the play of color and movement before him, he stands rooted by the alluring display. Wonder turns to alarm as the threat becomes plain... alarm turns to fear when he cannot take his eyes from Sicuriju's splendor. Fear threatens to become panic...

Hold the phone! This Charm/Stun effect is specifically listed on the monster's stat block as a Charm effect. Harnithael has +5 on saving throws against Charm. Adding 5 to his last d20 roll makes it an 11. Question: Does the bonus apply to this kind of saving throw, or just to a d20 roll to resist the initial effect of an attack? YES, of course it does! An attack like this is resisted first by a Defense (Fort/Ref/Will) and then later by a DC10 save. So "he's" gonna get you once if "he" makes a successful attack, but when he tries to continue imposing the detrimental condition on you, you have a good shot to resist.

Harn's 6 is a successful save thanks to the +5 Eldarin racial bonus! Sulannus's 7 is similarly successful! Both of them, Galindan, and Quarion are now merely dazed (another DC 10 save at +5 ends this as well). Please edit appropriately.

OOC: Due to DM error regarding the area attack of the Sicuriju (thanks, Walking Dad), the monster's standard action this round is forfeited. [There may also be other consequences if need be.] Quarion is up, followed by Rinivan and Galindan (G has already made his second successful save and so goes from Dazed to Normal status at the beginning of his turn). Quarion will please roll his second save, and may act this round if successful. Harnithael and Sulannus will please each roll another save (DC 10, with +5 racial bonus) and will go from Stunned to Dazed at the beginning of their respective turns this round if successful, and then the Sicuriju will be up again.

Quarian tries to focus and shadows seem to gather around his extended hand. They twine together into a rope that forms a noose of shadow. With a flick of the wrist the shadow noose flies toward the snake things neck. The noose loops neatly about Sicuriju's neck. With a wicked gleam in his eye, Quarion begins to pull the shadow rope tightening the noose and dragging the massive creature forward while squeezing the life out of it. Sicuriju's movements are slowed by the pull of the shadow rope. Quarion shakes off the remaining effects of Sicuriju's magic.

OOC: Pull Sicuriju forward two squares and it is slowed--Your speed becomes 2. This speed applies to all your
movement modes, but it does not apply to teleportation or to a pull, a push, or a slide. You can’t increase
your speed above 2, and your speed doesn’t increase if it was lower than 2. If you’re slowed while moving,
stop moving if you have already moved 2 or more squares.

You gather shadows into the form of a noose, cast it around your foe’s neck, and pull.

Galin quickly has his blade in hand, his feet find the rhythm of the bladesong as he strikes... and misses.

The Sicuriju hisses violently as it tries to move toward Rinivan faster, but is impeded by Quarion's Executioner's Noose. It moves forward as far as it can and flashes its Mesmerizing Gaze at Rinivan again. Rinivan is under the thrall of the Sicuriju and is immobilized until the start of the Sicuiju's next turn.

OOC: Harnithael and Sulannus - don't forget saves at the beginning of your respective turns! (as if you possibly would, duh). Quarion et al. are up!
