Does someone mind checking something for me? I haven't been home to be able to check the books the past couple days. Does casting spells in melee provoke an attack in 5e? I'm thinking of Thorn Whip specifically, which is a ranged spell with V and S components if I remember correctly, in case it matters.

I pretty sure it does not provoke. However, a ranged attack would be done with disadvantage.

Hmm. Looks like I've used all my spell slots already. In all fairness, I probably shouldn't have been able to cast that last heal. I'll do better at keeping that straight and get it organized on my character sheet.

It is disheartening that I've basically only got two heals spells I can use before a long rest. I was hoping I was reading it wrong, but I can't find it if I am.
