Dungeons & Dragons News

A new “bonus” playtest document has been released for the new Bastion System in the Dungeon Master’s Guide that allows players to create a home base for their characters.

We’ve got a look at the table of contents for Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse including the names of all the new character options along with all the places in Sigil and the Outlands that will be available to explore.

We also have a preview of the table of contents for the boxed set’s adventure, Turn of Fortune’s Wheel.

And one final preview for the week is the humorous “disclaimers” featured on the title page of each of the three included books. “DISCLAIMER: EVERYTHING IN THIS BOOK IS TRUE—EXCEPT THE PARTS THAT AIN’T”

Jeremy Crawford says that Planescape will be front and center in the 2024 update of Dungeons & Dragons as the “setting of the settings”.

Tabletop RPG News

Penguin-Random House will no longer distribute Dungeons & Dragons books or any other titles for Wizards of the Coast. This means that starting in 2024, it will be more difficult to find D&D titles at mainstream bookstores. This won’t affect distribution to hobby stores through Alliance, Diamond, GTS, and others nor will it affect direct distributors like Amazon.

Multiple updates this week on stories involving algorithmic “AI” generation in the games industry as BackerKit bans algorithmic generation, Wizards of the Coast replaces artwork from Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants, and game convention Essen Spiel used algorithmic generated artwork for promotional materials.

That’s all from me for this week! Don’t forget to support our Patreon to bring you more gaming news content. Until next time, may all your hits be crits!
