The rats continue to close in on the companions, trying to surround Tor & Gideon. The fighters are ready, however, and Tor slings his chain out at the incoming vermin, striking two of them but failing to drop them. The rats get close enough to use their teeth, scoring a pair of bites each on Tor and Gideon. Gideon returns the favor with his longsword, scoring a viscious hit on one of the rats but, like his companion, not enough to drop it.
Babette and Fimble continue to fire crossbow bolts into the rats as they slowly make their way forward, but neither score a hit. They reload quietly, a determined look on their faces.
Metrius continues to move up to where he can use his mace.
