Lastly, Fae. i love them and think they add alot of spice to a place if a little pixie was to wander its way in to pester or pilfer from unexpecting people. id like it if they could actually come in unhindered but expect to be chased off.

Uhhh...Not all but some fae have wings. What's the plan there? Yeah you know me...nit-picking.

Small physical traits like funky animal ears or a tail, fangs, small horns not giant Minator ones), hooves and the like shouldnt be a problem though i do think the player should expect a fair ammount of teasing from it since it isnt a normal trait unless your a prestige class from the Masters Of the Wild book, wings for me are a touchy subjet since id think most winged creatures wouldnt like enclosed spaces very much. Though if that rule should be inforced still that they are not alloud i think that animal stripes or spots on your body should also be band unless there tattoos.

Just before we get into this, the plane is considered 'High Magic' which also means any number of abnormalities exist as well as a far greater spectrum of character bases.

1) A large chunk of characters seen still get away with (tail, fangs, small horns not giant Minator ones), hooves) anyway.

2) Not all creatures despise enclosed spaces, and also claustrophobia tends to be based on certain and differing amounts of restriction - for example:

Ann might find having her hands bound is bad, whereas Bhryn would feel largely uncomfortable with something of less than three by three by six feet of space and Zeren may find that whilst he enjoys the wide open spaces, the tavern itself makes him naturally jittery.

So simply completely categorising them all together isn't a viable idea. However, the High Magic of the Rotunda plane means wings should be allowed. There are races that are faerunian that have wings they actually can't just shrug off (Avariel / Valkazyan / Phoenician etc etc) and probably don't have the magic or wear withal to hide them.

3) Though if that rule should be inforced still that they are not alloud i think that animal stripes or spots on your body should also be band unless there tattoos.

Fair enough - but then anyone can claim tattoo and they'd be believed. Or what about skin abnormalities that mock stripes or spot patterns? Or if that really nasty neighbour of yours saw you sunbathing and put strips of paper in the way so you ended up with an odd tan... (Unlikely in them days but I did see it done recently... kind of amusing... )

I think having some sense of control about the setting would help though - of course there's no way a giant dragon or a giant...or a full blown gnoll or the like will be able to make it in there. Not without at least TRYING to look humanoid and of humanoid size. Maybe that's the key, to look as humanoid as you can make yourself...

Wasn't a mage having bound hands the reasons behind the Still Spell and Pedo-Dexterity (being able to use your feet like hands) feats? Pardon the pun.

Anyhow, to finally add something constructive. If you guys have a way to contact Nashi-poo by other means than the boards. She's more than happy to discuss ideas in person. I found it to be easier to poke her on AIM myself. Just for a few things we discussed.

Open Area: Yes, this came up long ago, the start of the thread. It included access to the wares being sold in Waterdeep, giving it a bit more of a Juxta feeling. And more of a reason for more unique beings to show up there. I know I'd love to bring my Catasian back to ISRP, but with the tavern off-limits, and the Rotunda being a casino, and the fact she's not overly comfortable with gambling, the only place for her is Sigil. And let's not go into her Naivity.

Non-Open building, with roof access: We discussed a garden on the Rotunda roof. One that you can see various sights of Waterdeep from. Blackstaff tower, the bazzaars, Mount Waterdeep. We also discussed a mild True Sight enchantment in this garden, probably cast by Khelbon, that makes the magic of the Celestial Staircase shimmer to the eyes of mortals standing atop the Rotunda and looking towards Mount Waterdeep.

Yes, that's our discussions condensed to two sections, we discussed other stuff, but it was kinda borish, like how to go about that enchantment.

And on a new note. EnWorld lacks a family friendly room now. A tavern, a casino, a night club, and an overly dangerous city. Back on Wiz, I was mildly comfortably with a younger character in Juxta, and by younger, I mean 16 or 17. My youngest character was only 17, and I was fairly comfortable to have her in Juxta unescorted. I'm not saying Juxta was perfectly safe or family friendly, but compared to the Tavern and TMP, it was very safe, even when Juxta was happening and hopping most conflicts took place in the tavern, where people coudl get wasted. At the moment the most family friendly main room is the Rotunda. But, it's only big thing is, the gambling area. Casino's are more than the gambling floor. The restuarant portion of the Rotunda is severely under played to it. I know this part isn't something Nash can change beyond making a bigger deal of it in the description. But this is somethign the players can change. You're character is most likely to be in this area of the room anyhow, since there really isn't a way to participate in the gambling floor beyond craps. Make more use of the Restaurant portion of the Rotunda. Have a leisurely conversation with a Waitress or better yet, FeeGee, he's been lacking some attention since Juxta went poof.

Speaking of FeeGee, I kinda miss the "Foodgolem whispers to {character}" comment if you order something mispelled or not on the menu. Maybe that could be brought back? Made having conversations with FeeGee amusing. He could actually reply then, you could turn that whisper into some lewd comment about a barmaid and bust out laughing.

True, I miss that. They could just put the !order whisper and !order nod (nods in agreement) or !shake (shakes his head in disagreement) to it.

After all, Bee and Fee did end up with distinct personalities (tut tut Bee, flirt) :p

I miss Bee flirting with people. Hey..anyway we can get him to flirt with Bhryn since she's currently confused anyways :p:p

Agreed! Id love that back. *sighs* even though my poor Imreis can barely order a glass of wine in the tavern with out him for some reason giving my three for some reason. I swear Begee has a thing for him! But more non food commands would be nice.

Back on the subject of my previous ideas for a moment; you all made some nice additives to what i posted earlier and I’m glade it finally spurted some creative juices in everyone. I thought of another one for consideration after a few days of pondering it. if the familiar idea in not aloud, I think it would be neat of a 'Familiar Daycare' nothing has to be added but a player could say as they enter a room that they stop by a door, handing there pet off of care while they are inside. This leaves more room for a bit of spark to a game play. a spellcaster has the link with its familiar where in they can communicate with them and I find it amusing to argue with it sometimes. One could now have there character make faces or grumble about unruly ferrets. This may very well attract another player to ask why the long face; allowing for new friends.

I guess im kinda stummed there. though my DM always ran that a Pixie being inately magic didnt really need its wings to fly, they just love to flap them since it was fun. I personally love this idea since it adds a bit more fun to the fey. Even then, a person could alter the wings away and hope from table to table in there minute little forms.

This is very true but to requote Nashira, she wants this to be a middle ground between two rooms. Waterdeep may very well be i open setting itself but this doesnt mean she will have it run that way, this is ment no harm to your idea and i hope it is concitered.

On a last note for this long long post, i hope this gives you plenty of idea's for your Rotunda Nashi.
