OOC: I won't be available until Wednesday night. Interested in seeing what Raylis does with No save. If it isn't approved yet I probably wouldn't allow it in game play, but I'll defer to him since he's the man.

OOC: If the No Save bit isn't allowed, that's fine. If Minister makes the save, easy enough to say it's him doing something Archeville didn't/couldn't account for ;)
I figured this'd be a good way to show No Save in action, which Velmont sorta requested in the No Save proposal thread.

Archeville begins to go through his complicated thought process, trying to deduce where the Minister would go after he vanished in the room. Then he hits a snag. How did he vanish? Invisibility, teleportation, sink through the floor? If he teleported, where would he teleport to? In their conversation the Minister mentioned that he'd been deported...but didn't say where he was deported to. With these factors unknown, Archeville is unable to locate the Minister.

From his perch on the Computer Science and Engineering building, Mr. Jones detects psionic activity below him.

On the field, Zenji has a clear view of the library and a squad of soliders moving down the path.

"Excuse me, Resolutes? This is Private McMillan...you mentioned leaving a boy near a bike rack. Could you be more specific as to which bike rack you left him near?"

"What in God's name happened in here? Someone blast through the roof? Charlie team report to Science Building ASAP for escort.

"Boys, look after the soldiers I think I might have found something" Reports Mr Jones.

The magician does his best to home in on the strange thought patterns and then attempts to translocate himself into the next room so as to be closer to his target, able to try and follow him and with luck able to identify the source.

Following the thoughts they appear to be searching the campus but do originate in the building below, the do seem oddly familliar. Jones teleports down into the hallway outside of room 105, where he can see Archeville in the room, a look of concentration on his face...and the apparent source of the psionic energy.

OOC: What Archeville did was no more "psionic" than thinking really hard about where a lost remote control might be. Which is part of the reason it had two instances of the Subtle power feat -- it shouldn't be detected because there's nothing really to detect. He wasn't actually sending out his mind to search for the Minister, he was making a ton of calculations and educated guesses in a very short time; Marvel's Leader and Mad Thinker, and Watchmen's Ozymandias, do much the same. I'd say it'd have the Training descriptor, it's a way Archeville has trained/figured to use his Mutation-enhanced intellect.
Unless, of course, there's something else going on that the PCs don't know about. Something much more else....

Archeville looked around the room, and at the grenade-stunned guards. "Zhere's half a dozen unconscious guards down here, ready for pick-up."

To be fair, what is psionics except... brain power. Maybe just by thinking so damn hard you're putting out psionic ripples, just like how any electronic device creates EM interference even though that's rarely the desired effect.[/quote]

OOC - Jones would have been using detect thought - So thinking really hard is the sort of thing he might spot. (He does not have psionic awareness.)

Jones gives the scientist a hard look and mutters, "Find anything? I'm off to check out University House."

After waiting a few seconds for a response he teleports away.

[sblock=actions]Teleport, multihop to the lawn in front of University House. Then head back inside keeping an eye out for the centurion.[/sblock]

OOC: Eh, no more than an Olympic weightlifter struggling with a 500-pound weight would put out more physical ripples than a child struggling to life a 35-pound bag of dogfood. Both are using the same mechanics, the same lever system of bones & muscles, but the Olympic weightlifter both has more power and knows how better to use that power. It's like Brainiac 5 using his 12th-level intellect to make accurate predictions about upcoming events through analytical deduction, as opposed to Dream Girl's psionic precognition via dreams (which annoys Brainy to no end... sorta like how magic annoys Archeville ;) ).

OOC: Ah, yeah, that'll do, I suppose.

"Nein, nein... too many x-factors in zhe equation, too many variables..." the Super-Scientist responds, rubbing his temples. "Zhe Minster's likely long-gone, und he likely took zhe Speedster mit him. I zhink all zhat's left for us to do is clean up, make sure zhe hostages are safe, see to zhe wounded."

"There isn't anyone by this bike rack..." comes the reply over the comm.

In the university house all is quiet. In the room where Jim was found is only the turned over sheets. In the study is the wooden golem, standing inert amongst newspaper clippings, photos and looseleaf paper "Resolutes Save Bridge from Bots" can be easilly seen on one of the clippings. The golem ignores Jones, the faint trace of thought it exhibted earlier now gone.

"We'll handle the clean up. We have a shuttle standing by to bring you back to the base Resolutes. Debriefing will be in a few days, once we have had time to analyze everything.
