Gruskin climbs down all the way, and begins stabbing at the crumbling cliff with his guisarme, prying loose some gravel and sand and driving it in. When he's satisfied that there's nothing to be found there, he moves to his left (which is east, since he's looking south, facing the north face of the mound), and tries again there.

ooc: I won't be giving hints throughout the module, and it contains a lot of puzzles and traps, so you guys have to take the initiative if this is to work. But I will remind you, this time, that the raft came equipped with a pair of 10' poles ...
