OOC: @Leif: I thought we were traveling to go visit Sir Upjohn? If so, how can he be in the city assisting Raul?

Hmmm, unclear at this juncture. Anyway, the Remorhaz takes precedence over any other errand, wouldn't you say? Let's let Raul take care of himself.

[sblock=Leif]Not a problem. I was just pointing out a potential hole in the story line. :)[/sblock]

"Hole in the story line?" So far, we've had holes in our story line that are/were so big and numerous that you could easily drive a TRAIN through some of them. Don't bothah me with petty details and trivial crap like plot and setting -- we's a-tryin' ta DM a game here!

[sblock=Rhun and Leif]Perhaps it was Drumond Bitterstaff, a Dwarven Evoker of the LCA who knows the Constables from their help with Thaddeous Thornapple instead of Sir Upjohn? Either way not a huge deal as Leif said we have pretty much crafted the swiss cheese of gaming plots with this one anyway.[/sblock]

Scotley

Hero
Tau 32
Raul 22
Soulfetter 14
Alarion of Tovarre 13
Creature 11
Braevil 2

Tau is shocked at the sudden appearance and reacts almost by instinct. He takes an almost stumbling step back and after spitting out a few arcane words, sends forth a ball of dazzling glitter into the creature's face. The thing is covered in glittering particles.

Raul appears outside the spray of ice and snow coming up the road toward the group just in time to see the giant ant-thing appear. Acting quickly, Raul moves in for a flurry of blows, working in his dodging movements as he attempts to pummel the ant-thing. The surface of the creature is surprisingly warm and seems to be getting hotter as he pounds it.

The Urgant reacts quickly, not hampered in the least by the cold or the blinding snow; he whirls his axe and buries it deep in the monster's hide. A second swing is deflected from the beast's armor, and proves ineffective.

Seeing as he cannot charge through the snow, the knight-turned-constable Drops his lance, and urges Bayard towards the monstrosity. As he rides, he frees his sword and shouts a mighty battle cry. "FOR MORWYN AND TOVARRE!!!!!" and slashes at the worm opening a wound in its neck!

The creature reaches out and grabs (1d20+24=31) for Soulfetter. The fact that glittering motes cover it eyes does not seem to hamper its attack. (Soulfetter, make an opposed Grapple check (1d20+23=37)) Heat begins to pour off the creature like you are standing in front of a hot forge making the snow around it wet and slushy.

OOC: Braevil is up and the rest of you can act again before the creature gets another chance, so actions from everyone please. Will Save (1d20+3=15)
