Scouts and Trackers IC

Another Beautiful day in the City of Splendors.
The air has the salty tang as most sea ports do.
Its mid summer and warm. The city bustles with
activity, people going places, stopping, talking,
shopping. Shops are every where selling just
about anything you desire. Guard patrols are
everywhere keeping an eye out.

Its a good two hours before noon time, you
have found directions to the Scouts and trackers
Guild. It would seem you have two hours before
they are taking applications.

I sit on a street corner, drinking coffee and watching the Guild. Coffee is far too expensive to drink so often, but I hope to be out of the city soon, and forced to do without.

Bloody terrible way to find trackers, waiting 'til midday. I've already been up for four marks, and its two more 'til they start taking applications. As I wait I try to mark who else is waiting to apply, and see if I can size them up.

Murtek Grayspear

Approaching the designated meeting ground, Murtek knew he was early, but as the Red Knight taught, it was better to be early than one moment too late.

~I hope the drivers know how fortunate they will be having one of her chosen among them, even if I am still but a simple pawn in her order...~

As he neared the area, he felt his eyes scanning the crowds for Thurdack. While he had recieved word that his friend was in Waterdeep, thus far he had not been able to contact him. It was not surprising that the Northman kept to his own recourse while in the city, but Murtek hoped that the call which led him here would also summon Thurdack.

~I owe him much, and it is a debt I will carry all of my days...

Forcing the distracting thoughts away, Murtek resumed his search for both the central booth, as well as his friend.

Living EN World Judge
Bryn Greenlocke

Grey cloak covering his form, a slight limp showing in his gait, Bryn arrives at the Guildhall, awaitingthe beginning of his next adventure as a finder of paths. Smiling as he drops the hood from his head, the elf set his pack upon the ground, stretching his legs from the many miles of walking that he had just accomplished. Hopefully, his next Path would be less mundane and boring that then last, as escorting dwarves to an abandoned mine was hardly heroic work...

Taking a seat upon a nearby hitching post, Bryn began looking over his gear, especially his boots (which seem to have developed a phantom rock inside...) as he surveyed the folk milling about in this City.

Thurdack Horne, barbarian/sorceror

Rounding the corner a very very large man appears. He is dressed in rough studded leather and carries a huge sword over his shoulder. His messy hair and generally rough appearance is a little at odds with the city but he stands out mostly because of his size. Standing about a head taller than anyone else in the street, his girth is obvious to anyone.

Thurdack feels a little out of place in the city, the only other one he has been in was about a year ago. He had travelled with his friend Murtek to the temple of the Red Knight then. But he had left soon after to travel south again to try and make amends with his parents. He had agreed though that in a years time he would meet Murtek here in the City of Splendors.

Well he had been here for a few days now and even put out the word that he was looking for his friend, but there had been no sign of him yet. On a hunch, Thurdack had decided to join up with the Scouts and Trackers Guild to pass the time by and maybe spend a little of his time waiting somewhere outside the city. Never know, his friend might even show up there, given how much he enjoyed the time spent out doors.

Smiling as his friend came into sight, Murtek began walking towards Thurdack confident the outlander's eyes would spot him long before he actually reached him.

As soon as he spotted his old friend Murtek, Thurdack raised his hand in greeting, "Hello old friend." He shouted over the crowd. Once they came together in the street, Thurdack shook his friend's hand vigorously. "I had a feeling that I would find you today. What fortunes that bring us here together, as we said we would a year ago. How have you been? Is your lady treating you right?"

This city is huge, and I need a way to make an impact. Hopefully working for this guild will provide a way for me to find and help those in need. They are in it for money, hopefully I can use them for my own purposes.

As his thoughts tumble around Listin approached the guild. Noting that it was still too early, he sat down, his back against the wall and watched the crowd, trying to see who might also be coming in to join the guild.

Murtek's normally stern features broke into a genuine smile as the outlander's grip threatened to crush his hand.

~Tempus' might still flows through his veins...a gift we will need should our cargo be too tempting...~

"My Lady has sent me dreams to return to the road, and in it a child of Tempus would ride with me once more. I trusted she meant you, as I do not know of any other I would rather travel with."

Looking around at the others gathering, Murtek scanned the crowds once more before turning back to face his friend.

"What do you see in the gathering crowd? Do you see any beside ourself who seem comfortable with the steel they wear?"

As you all sit and wait you look around at those around
you sizing up your possible competition.

All of you see possibly a dozen people waiting to go
to the guild hall. Most look like typical hired guard
types. There are a few stand outs.

A large barbaric looking man with a great sword across
his back. talking to another warrior type with a Holy
symbol around his neck (Looks to be a Red Knight)

Sitting by himself you see another warrior type with
a nice Bastard sword at his side, and a short bow
leaning against the table.

Sitting upon a hitching post close by is an Elf with
a long bow looking around the croud while examining
his boots.

Leaning against a wall you see a man in monks robes
with a staff looking over the crowd.

Sitting off to the side you see a man in black with
Sword and dagger on his belt wearing no armor, wearing
a strange pair of eye goggles of some silvered material
surveying the crowd.

Bryn: The man in black seems to be flanked by a pair of
guards trying to not look like a pair of guards.

Listen: You feel there is more to this sit and wait for
noon gathering than meets the eye (Not neccesarily in a
bad way)
