But seriously

and (I hope) not too hard to understand ...

How about the "Zorro" movies not so long ago, with C. Zeta-Jones as Mrs. Zorro?

Anway, it's sort of neat to be reminded that those guys were called "Hunters and Collectors".

Some other group by the same name starred in a film that came around back when.

Didn't sound half as weird, though.

Wow... quite a few replies to this thread! These are some quality replies! I'll have to check out a few of these RPGs, though the one that immediately piques my interest is Aces & Eights. Is there a starter PDF that can be browsed somewhere?

Aces & Eights is definitely the way to go Western!

Check it out here:

various useful links there, here's one:

It has a very detailed and deadly gunfighting system as well as several sub-systems for doing pretty much anything else that you'd want to do.

If you don't have anything against heavy games, this is the one. If you must have a light game maybe it's not for you ....

but IMO Aces & Eights is sorta like someone dug up some Boot Hill DNA, cloned it, pumped it up on steroids, and force-fed it supersoldier serum as a baby -- now it is all grown up into the biggest and baddest Western game out there.

Hopefully that should give you enough information to make an informed decision if this is the right sort of Western game for you...
