OOC: I just wanted to make sure, for this mass combat, you didn't necessarily want a specific fireball roll, correct, just an overall description of what our characters are doing and Fenris, as our leader, is rolling one group roll for all of us?

You are correct. Was just interested in giving the other players a chance to post something interesting and offering up a bonus in exchange. The only roll that matters is Fenris'. Sorry for the delay, been fighting a really nasty cold of late.

The paladins continue to press forward as the divisions on the flanks cut further into the ranks of the tieflings.

_: 1D20 = [15] = 15
+2 from flanking so a 17

The paladins seem to find greater resolve from the loss of some of their number and they cut down the remaining Teiflings with cold efficiency. Just when the battle seems well and truly won a band of demons comes snarling out of the darkness. The Dretches bound into the fray.

OOC: New round.

Fenris

Adventurer
As the demons charge forth out of the night an accompanying volley of fire arrows meet them before they can join the front lines. Denir rallies the paladins to form a shield wall to fight the demons, letting the wounded retreat back and fresh men to stand forward. He summons the power of Gorum to heal the paladins around him. And lastly, Denir pulls out a potion and drinks it giving a shout of power, Denir grows to enormous size, his massive sword now towers over the paladins around him. Letting the majority of paladins continue to hold the shield wall Denir takes a score with him as the now giant warpriest moves forward to engage the demons.

OOC: Defensive Wall: Your army fights defensively, taking actions to protect fellow units as needed. Decrease its OM by 2, and increase its DV by 2.
Channel energy. Drink potion of enlarge person.

The battered paladins respond to orders and form up just in time. The demons hit their wall forced onward by a shadowy figure that remain back from the fray shouting and cajoling in the dark tongue of the Abyss. Despite his vitriolic encouragement, the attack breaks on the wall and the leading demons drop.

OOC: The dice were kind. New round. Please note that any of you may post your own actions in hopes of getting Fenris a boost on his die roll.

That shadowy figure, Thorn mused. That was the one she wanted. But it wasn't wise to just pounce on an unknown demon all at once. If you found yourself outmatched, cut off from allies, it might not be possible to escape. But she didn't have to KILL him just yet. Just stop him from being able to concentrate on the fight.

She took to hiding between buildings, and behind piles of debris. She waited for moments when that demon's eyes were close enough to her to be attracted by movement...then snapped her chains out to ambush and murder an isolated dretch or two. When more showed up to try to confront her, she was already gone...only to snag another one in another spot. The key was NOT being subtle about it. Instead she made sure the commander knew someone was lurking about, picking off demons nearby.

Gentle encouragement to pay attention to his own safety, and neglect the well being of his troops, Thorn wagered. Demons were never known for their selflessness after all.

'Keva, too, slips from the main fray... but for different reasons. He looks about for a spot with good sightlines and field of fire, one from which he can go to work with a reasonable degree of safety. He finds a likely spot, and takes a post in the ruins of a small stone building atop a hill. From there he casts his gaze across the field of battle with an eye to important targets, and begins to methodically take them out. One arrow, two or even three... eventually, any foe he spies taking a heavy toll on the troops, any that shows sign of leading a rally or successful foray, falls to his barrage.
