*As Tenebrynn reaches and begins to open the door, a hideous spectral creature reaches through the door and assaults him, its form rippling and pouring outwards in a grotesque splay of melting globs of ectoplasmic pseudoflesh. The creature is a bulbous thing, a viscous sac of primal goo, swimming with eyes, mouths, and faces screaming in wordless agony.*
*Both tentacles strike Tenebrynn, who ironically chooses this moment to lose his unnatural jollity. He feels his self sapping away, melting, his mind being slowly drawn into the creature. As if in response to his mental anguish, his form collapses into a spongy, amorphous mass that melts, flows, writhes, and boils.*
(OOC: Tenebrynn loses 4 Charisma and his form becomes unstable--He is unable to hold or use any item. Clothing, armor, rings, and helmets become useless. Large items worn or carried—armor, backpacks, even shirts—hamper more than help, reducing his Dexterity score by 4. Soft or misshapen feet and legs reduce speed to 10 feet or one-quarter normal, whichever is less. Searing pain courses along the nerves, so strong that he cannot act coherently. He cannot cast spells or use magic items, and he attacks blindly, unable to distinguish friend from foe (-4 penalty on attack rolls and a 50% miss chance, regardless of the attack roll). As a standard action, he can try a DC 15 Charisma check to regain his shape.

Only just realizing what Tenebrynn is doing, Ashnar calls out to the diviner to stop - too late, obviously. He draws his wand and shoots a scorching ray at the creature while trying to remember if he knew what it was.

[SBLOCK=Ashnar]It seems to be a unique spectral entity, likely actually an undead this time, unlike last time, made up of a composite of souls in a chaotic miasma. He can't really identify it specifically though.[/SBLOCK]
