D&D 5E The Fifth City - Episode 1: The Gathering

Veer cringes as the battle rages around him, flinching at every swing of a weapon and every cry of pain. He traces a protective rune in the air before him.

OOC: casting blade ward. Resistance to piercing, slashing and bludgeoning until end of next turn.

Felix drops both men, knocked unconscious by his blows. A glowing sigil appears in the air where Veer's finger traces, then expands and envelops the tiefling in a soft luminescence that acts as a barrier against attacks.

OOC: Initiative order... 20 - Castagyr 19 - 10 Ruffians (2 killed by Markus, 1 killed by Amisi, 1 killed by Korgon, 2 KO'd by Felix) 18 - Markus - 4 damage 16 - Balcony Bandit (wounded by Castagyr, killed by Lenya) 13 - Lenya - 2 damage 12 - Korgon - 1 damage 10 - Amisi - 1 damage 6 - Ruffian Leader 4 - Felix - 2 damage 3 - Veer

Castagyr draws his longsword and rushes in to the fray, bringing his blade to bear on one of the ruffians.

His weapon slices the air near the ruffian.

The four remaining ruffians seem to have realized they bit off more than they can chew. They all back away, heading toward a nearby alley. (OOC: They're taking the disengage action this round and will be running next round unless someone cuts them off.)

OOC: Markus, Lenya, Korgon, and Amisi are up.

Lenya stepped back another pace, trying to get a clear shot at the bandit leader. He moved well, though, and her arrow buried itself in a wall instead of in his shoulder.

Korgon looks at the fleeing backs of the ruffians, then grins at the leader of the group. "Looks like you need to round up better thugs. Next time. Oh wait there won't be a next time for you." Korgon swings his axe at the leader.

Felix shouts after the fleeing ruffians, "We are a city of laws. Take this as a lesson." He then begins moving to a position behind the leader, opposite Korgon. Him we can't let flee...

Amisi listens to Felix's words and does not hurl a spell as the cowards runs away. She is however ready to throw one at a moments notice if necessary.

Korgon's blade slices across the ruffian leader's face and through his bandana...and his face fluctuates for a moment, becomes blurry and indistinct, though it just as quickly goes back to normal, with a bleeding line across his cheek.

The ruffian smiles and unleashes an assault against Korgon the likes of which he has never seen, whirling about for another attack with the dagger while simultaneously drawing a scimitar and slashing upward with it, then bringing the scimitar back around in a downward cut as the pirouette concludes.

Though the initial upward slice of the scimitar misses, the dagger and the secondary scimitar attack carve bloody swaths across Korgon's chest.

OOC: Korgon has sustained 12 points of damage. He has 3 hit points left. Felix and Veer are up!

OOC: Korgon is raging and so has resistance to slashing and piercing damage. So that should be 2 and 4 damage for a total of 6 points and leaving Korgon with 9, yes?

OOC: Quite right, except Korgon took one point of damage last round so he would be left with 8 hit points at the moment.
