Aelspeth Noromiel, Novice Conjurer

Aelspeth holds her hand out to Theia, looking deliberately at Zinnelis and not at the sensation of pain and heat that spreads across her palm.

"Unfortunately," she begins, "I am afraid that my warding will soon wear off." While the wizard speaks she takes some of the ash from Theia and spreads it across her hand, pumping her fist a few times to encourage the flow. She quickly smears blood and ash into an especially wet sort of muddy substance and turns toward the stairs. Looking up toward the master suite, she absently mumbles, "We'll replace the runes and then what? Destroy the creature. But we're wounded."

A light crosses behind the elf's eyes. "Ah! I've a wand!" She turns and holds it out to Zinn, letting the question hang unasked but thick in the air.

Zinnelis added some ash to his own blood. “If we can destroy her,” he said. “I have only my own healing wand as a weapon, and I only have nine charges remaining. Armor and weapons are meaningless.”


Zinn took the wand from Aelspeth and quickly healed the wizard.

Theia look the others in the eye, "So... assuming we are gluttons for punishment, we rush into the room and try and break the curse as quickly as possible." She peaks down at her still bleeding hand.

"I cannot speak for you, but as I was working on the floor incantation I feel like some it's power infused with my own. I can feel quite the dark energies flowing within me. I may have a few new tricks in store for these hell beasts."


....and I certainly do not intend to give any of that power back.


"Let's go!" commands Theia, unafraid, leading the way back to the master suite.

Calithil Manor - Master Suite

Following a brief respite, the party boldly reenters the master suite. The bound spirit howls with rage as they move into the room. It lashes out at the unseen barrier holding it back, sparks of magical energy fly away and the space seems to distort with every blow. Whatever the nature of the enchantment holding the spirit, it will not continue to do so overmuch longer. The party is able to squeeze along the walls of the room without crossing the circle, giving them a modicum of protection from the spirit's wrath.

So the good news is that as long as you stay out of the circle, you'll be safe from attack. The bad news is that to inscribe a symbol properly, you have to get close enough that it might take a swipe at you provided it notices.

Inscribing a symbol is a DC 20 Spellcraft check. Three remain to be changed, each equidistant from the last throughout the circle.

In other news I finished all of my graduate school applications today! Now I can focus more on the community and helping us grow after the transition!

Zinnelis looked to Aelspeth and Leira and said, “Good luck,” before following Theia into the room, listening to the angry screeches of the ghost. He moved around to one of the symbols on the floor. He hoped he could do this. He squeezed his hand, dripping blood onto the symbol, and began to rework it.
