Your party has been adventuring together for some time now, and after your most recent battle with a night hag you decided to return to Bethany's home village of Barovia. Shortly after arriving you learned of Bethany's father's death. There family inn had been passed to the control of the mayor who had renamed it The Purple Rose in honor of his daughter, Rose. After a few hours in the town it became apparent that there was something wrong, and after a little bit of questioning you learned of the disappearance of Rose and recent raids by strange cloaked creatures.

Places of interest:

1. The Purple Rose Inn - a quiet homely inn that is a common stop for most travelers. It contains a tavern and a small store.
2. Grax's Magical Medicines and Mischief - A local magic shop run by the town's only Mage, Grax. Sells mostly potions and other consumables.
3. Gribben's forge - a blacksmith's forge that specializes in anything metal. Sells weapons, horseshoes, and armor. Run by an ancient and weathered dwarf by the name of Gribben
4. Constable's office - the local law enforcement and holding cells are located here, but remain largely unused.
5. Mayor's mansion - the house in which the leader of the town resides. He used to live with his daughter until her recent disappearance. The guard seems to be doubled and ordered to let no one in.

What would you like to do?

Upon hearing the news of the disappearance of Rosie and the raids the former soldier would have wished to speak with the towns law enforcement. But knowing how these things sometimes worked and how protective local law could be in relation to adventurers he decided to recommend another strategy.

"Should we go see the Mayor?" he asks his companions, his voice as always just loud enough to carry without any extra expended energy. "At least request a meeting with the offer of help."

Kaiden walks with his companions. He had hoped for some rest but trouble seemed to follow him. The town has been raided and the mayors daughter was missing. A small town like this would be hard pressed to handle one of these problems let alone both. He is about to speak up to suggest they lend what assistance they can when his companion speaks. He winces at the thought of dealing with the mayor. He nods to Kelemavs, knowing that speaking to the man was best.

"We might as well speak with the man and offer him any assistance we can provide." Kaiden looks to the others. "That is if everyone else agrees that helping these people is what we should do."

Bree looks confused as she enters Barovia. She has this weird sense of dejavu....
She immediately gives the town a scan via Eldritch Sight.

The 1st thing out of Bree's mouth is of course: "Can we get lunch? I'm hungry."
(the 1/2ling eats more food than you'd think could actually fit in her tiny body. How she doesn't weigh as much as dwarf....)

Upon hearing about the raids "Any idea what the hooded creatures were? They weren't satyrs were they?"

As Bree scans the town the only sources of magic she can find resonate from the magic shop, and very faintly from the Mayor's house. A small amount of questioning gives a loose description of the attackers. They are most definitely not satyrs. They seem to have tails and scaly skin. There attacks have been well coordinated and they move quickly. Even the loose description given is enough for Kelemavs to recognize, these are lizardfolk.

Eilessa, a priestess of a god no one else seemed to have heard of before they met her, put a hand to her mouth with a sharp indrawn breath.

"Lizardfolk," she said, "they do raids sometimes but I've never heard of them kidnapping just one person without any other kind of attack. We definitely need to speak to the mayor right away!"

Kel spits as he hears the description of the cloaked figures. "Lizardfolk!" he hisses, his voice taking on a sibilant tone.

Scales, Bree's pseudo-dragon imitates Kels reaction.
He releases a chirp that, if you didn't know pseudo-dragons can't actually speak, you'd swear was "Yeah!" & also spits.

Bree looks at Scales. "You never mentioned having a problem with lizardmen." "Oh."
To the rest of you: "He says it's a long story."
