Sorry this one is late! But "Game" sites are now blocked at work.
Clicked in and got a big ole "This action is being monitored by XXXX and will be reported to HR."

I like ya'll, but not enough to get fired!

It's July 1986. My High School D&D campaign was wrapping up.
But in Dragon, we get a city, a murder adventure and four of the most powerful super-heroines in the multiverse! All in Issue #111 of This Old Dragon.

I also update/convert one of those super heroines, Maxima of Villains & Vigilantes, to the Victorious RPG.

I remember the start of 1986 as being a very cold one.
Of course, this is the month that the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded on takeoff, forever changing how we felt about our space program.

On my bookshelves were The Number of the Beast by Robert A. Heinlein and DC's The Crisis of Infinite Earths, so this issue featuring Multiple Universes was a very, very welcome one to me.
Even the Marvel-Phile had an affect on my AD&D game which was begining to wind down prior to me heading off to college.

It's January 1986 and this is This Old Dragon #105!

It's November 1981.
Hall & Oates are on the radio. Time Bandits are in the theatres.

The newest AD&D book on the shelves is Fiend Folio and it is sitting next to This Old Dragon #55.

Erol Otus gives us a cover and a monster. Ed Greenwood disses the Fiend Folio. Larry Elmore does a Proto-Snarf. A D&D Basic adventure for up to 12 characters! Gygax talks Greyhawk and Gardner Fox writes the fiction section. A SERIOUSLY packed issue!

It's the 2nd Edition era...or is it?

The three core 2nd Edition books are on the shelves in the stores and Dragon is hyping their arrival in ads.
But the articles are still largely 1st Edition.

New 1st Ed Barbarians (again), Cavaliers (again) and a bunch of great BECMI content.

All in this issue #148 of This Old Dragon!

This issue covers all things fighters with the aforementioned articles on the cavalier, barbarians and more details on Paladins.
There is a GREAT overview of all the Known Earth Gazeteers for BECMI and worth a read today if the Known World is your thing; it was for me.

Cute but dangerous
That reminds me, I started GMing those adventures again but stopped after a while as it seems more difficult finding players. But I need to get to at least a few of those.
