D&D 5E To The Strongest: A 5E War Campaign [CLOSED; OOC]

Taking what Jago said about being officers it is possible for you to be in charge of a berserker unit? Maybe scouts? I'm debating between leadership feat or polearm master and being in charge of a polearm platoon. Of course this might be a good time to go cavalry. So many options.

Speaking of which, you will all be getting a nice chunk of "Starting Wages" Gold to hire your fellow Mercenary Soldiers, and I'll be drafting up options you can purchase. Everything from Human Pikemen to Orcish Cavalry Archers, Gnomish Mages and Dwarven Battleragers.

And maybe a few more exotic options >_>

I'd love to play a Greek/Macedonian Hoplite officer. Infantry commander, I would love to link up with with any of the characters but would have a particular bent to have a cavalry officer I can banter with!!!

Hmmm. Yeah, I could have a rambunctious squad of irregulars maybe. Scouts and scalawags, and skirmishers. Sort of light cavalryish in military terms, but riding weird fantasy things like wolves and stuff. Either to 'neek around flanks and get at vulnerable units...or just to go screaming naked into battle and see how many head lops we can get.

I was actually thinking more a religious man of sorts driven a little bit nutty by all the friends he has lost and the magic he's somehow been gifted with that he doesn't quite know how to control. Ideally with plate and a greatsword eventually, kinda buffing and healing a little too.

[sblock=Background]Incariol, or "Cleric" as he is more often known is a veteran of some twenty battles. The second son of a noble military family, he was offered to the clergy of Machidoxia at a young age. He excelled more at sport than faith, and while he earned his rosary he had less talent for it than others.

His first battle was as a junior chaplain on a military campaign into elven lands. Constant guerrilla warfare took its toll on his unit's men and their sanity. When the enemy finally attacked in force, his unit scattered in all directions and lost all morale. They were toyed with and tortured. The young junior chaplain watched many of his friends murdered, and was among the last two men standing. Something within Incariol broke, and he lashed out with a sudden surprising burst of power that wasn't there before. The elves, not expecting this but not necessarily being intimidated surrounded the junior who had killed their commander, someone highborn among them. Luckily for the pair of survivors reinforcements horns sounded and cavalry made short work of the exposed elven militias who suddenly were found lacking a commander.

Many more battles were equally bitter. "Cleric" became something of an insulting nickname. Many called his streak of luck a curse. In many ways he has forsaken his gods sense of "honor", believing that there is no such thing in war. His sermons remind those around him that war is suffering, death comes to all, and we carry with us the weight of both our fallen comrades and the enemies whose lives we take.[/sblock]
