Day 203: Maka and Vittero Fire Bows
OOC:

GM NOTE:
Since it was mentioned, the system of justice in The Outpost, such that it is, is handle by the constabulary not the community. The Constable is a member of the Thisidan Guard appointed to the community as his duty station. Punishment for crime is severe. Pranks, like children stealing a loaf of bread, are not considered true crime and are handled by parents.
The worse crime to occur has been drunken disorderly conduct. The punishment for such is 10 lashed, handled by the constable. For any serious crime, the punishment is death, usually by sword but can also be by arrows, which takes longer and is more torturous.
The only exception is witchcraft (the manipulation of Way to perform anything other than healing), which is punished by burning at the stake.

As he is silently running down the hill, Maka takes aim at the male, and lets an arrow fly!
Vittero, who initially reacts at the same time as Maka, also begins moving down his hill, drawing and firing at his nearest opponent.
[sblock=Reaction]
Maka: 14(Impetus) + 22(Sequencing) + 95(d100) = 131
131 - 30(armor) - 200(bow) = -99
Vittero: 16(Impetus) + 25(Sequencing) + 90(d100) = 131
131 - 32(armor) - 200(bow) = -101
Nashurin: 16(Impetus) + 47(Sequencing) + 85(d100) = 148
148 - 25(armor) - 200(bow) = -77[/sblock]
GM: | As the Nashurins are yet unaware of the approaching archers, Maka and Vittero will both be able to fire, but the targets are simultaneously moving making the shots more difficult despite their closeness. Maka, who is moving faster, covers 3 paces of distance before he fires. Vittero covers 2. The female nearest Maka has moved 3 paces at a direction directly between Maka's current location and the approach of Taylar and Adisakti. The male, moving more slowly has taken 4 steps backward while drawing to fire his bow. The female nearest Vittero moves 3 paces directly between Vittero and Adisakti. The movement makes Maka about 5 paces from his target, and Vittero about 3 paces from his.
[sblock=Attacking]
Maka: 14(Projection) + 22(Trajectory) + 23(launch) + 95(d100) + 34(luck) = 188 + 50(short) = 238
Nashurin: 17(konokoro) + 26(defense) + 85(d100) = 128
Damage: 238 - 128 = 110% * 10 = 11
Body: 10 - 11 = -1: incapacitated
Mind: 10 - 1 = 9: dazed
Vittero: 16(projection) + 25(trajectory) + 24(launch) + 90(d100) = 155 + 50(short) = 205
Damage: 205 - 128 = 77% * 10 = 8
Body: 10 - 8 = 2: injured[/sblock]
GM: | In addition to his choice placement and reaction time, a bit of luck favors Maka, and his first shot blows clean through his target, dropping the man to the ground. Though he is still conscious, the shot caused enough physical damage to prevent movement. Vittero's shot is also quite effective but not as much. The arrow jams into the female causing significant injury, but as she is not incapacitated, she returns fire at her now obvious assailant.
[sblock=Attacking]
Nashurin: 16(projection) + 47(trajectory) + 52(launch) + 85(d100) = 200 + 50(short) = 250
Vittero: 15(konokoro) + 16(defense) + 90(d100) = 121
Damage: 250 - 121 = 129% * 8 = 10 - 1(deflect) = 9
Body: 9 - 9 = 0: incapacitated[/sblock]
GM: | The return shot goes cleanly through Vittero's wool tunic and his body, dropping him to the ground, incapacitated.
[sblock=Combat Data]
Maka: full health
Nashurin male: Body = -1: incapacitated
Vittero: Body = 0: incapacitated
