Lily called to Lith to cover Raijin's retreat, the inky, insubstantial thing burbled up between the sorcerer and the dragon. Slipping closer Lily raised the skull implement and unleashed a blast of screaming spirits toward the great beast. Unfortunately they seemed little more than gnats buzzing about the mighty draconic form, certainly having little more effect.

standard: Haunting Spirits: vs Will (1d20+7=9)

The massive reptile pushes itself off the ground and attempts to crush its nearby foes beneath its bulk. Raijin is able to step out of the way, but Lily feels the sting of backlash as Lith disappears under the creature's mass.

[sblock=Status:]
Lily (30/36)
Zhen (8/24+5, bloodied)
Raijin (16/22, slowed (save ends))
Empathy (24/24)
Zombie Dragon (-66, -2 to attacks)

The Zombie Dragon has non-threatening reach, and will use it to claw both Lith and Raijin. Hits Lith with a 22 vs AC for 12 damage, and misses Raijin. That pops Lith, and Lily takes 6 damage. Then the dragon shifts up a square.[/sblock]

[sblock=Monster Info]Zombie Dragon:

Lily flinched, but her shadow began to pull itself back together again in front of the dragon. She lifted the skull and its eyes flared, then Lith's shadowy body seemed to crack open about halfway up from the floor, forming two jagged halves that then clamped down on the rotten flesh of the beast like an immense maw. While Lith attacked the dragon, Lily made a dash for the shelves, seeking a little cover so she could try to think of her next move.

minor: Call Spirit Companion to L6

standard: Stalker's Strike: vs Fort (1d20+7=27)

[sblock=Lily's Spirit Primer (Please Read!)] Spirit companions are complex critters, so this is to remind everyone, myself included, of the important points. The first three items are probably the most relevant to the other players.
  • Any of Lily's allies who start their turn adjacent to her spirit companion can shift 1 square as a free action, as the first action during their turn.
  • Any of Lily's allies adjacent to her spirit companion gain a +3 bonus to their damage rolls against bloodied enemies.
  • Lily's spirit companion occupies 1 square, Lily's allies may move through its space, but her enemies may not.
  • Lily's spirit companion may be targeted by melee and ranged attacks. If a single attack deals 11 or more damage to Lily's spirit companion it disappears and Lily takes 6 damage. Otherwise her spirit companion is unaffected by the attack.
  • Lily's spirit companion uses Lily's defenses.
  • Any enemy that leaves a square adjacent to Lily's spirit companion without shifting is subject its Spirit Fang attack. (This is an opportunity action and so may used once per turn, rather than once per round. Since there is no reason not to take this attack DM please feel free to roll them as necessary.)
  • Lily's spirit companion is unaffected by terrain and environmental phenomena.

Raijin uses the cover of Lith's attack to move away from the dragon. He raises up his dagger and lightning shoots out from it, propelling him back out of its reach. But the motion throws off his aim as he misses again. He curses in a foreign tongue and moves slowly from the dragon, looking for other options as the energies swirling around him fade and the ichor from the dragon no longer bothers him.

[sblock=OOC] Free action: Shift to K6
Standard: Stormwalk to shift to J6 and then attack 1d20+5=8 vs Ref for 2d8+10=15 lightning damage.
Move: Walk to H5
Minor: Perception 1d20=9 ignorance
Save: 1d20=13

You have got to be kidding me! I guess this is the revenge of IC.

Empathy continues to pound the creature's mind with psychic attacks, leaving it unable to attack as effectively.

[sblock=ooc]At least you saved, though! :)

standard: dishearten on dragon (centered on N6): 14 vs. will (yay!) for 9 psychic damage and -2 to attacks TENT

I just realized that our ACs are 18, 16, 14, 14. We're pretty easy to hit. I don't know how much good -2 to attacks really is, but there you go![/sblock]

True, but the dragon only has +6 to hit. The string of hits is much more to do with good rolls than good attack bonus.[/sblock]

ooc: NPCing Zhen this round...

Zhen moves up behind the dragon and unleashes a flurry of quick jabs with enough force to shatter bone. The dragon roars and lashes out in a frenzy against all those nearby, but its attacks go wide and are effortlessly dodged.

Lily (30/36)
Zhen (8/24+5, bloodied)
Raijin (16/22)
Empathy (24/24)
Zombie Dragon (-107
, bloodied, -2 to attacks)

Zhen moves to flank the dragon, and then uses Fury of Five Storms. Hits for 8 damage. He'll then use Flurry of blows to deal another 7 damage. The dragon is bloodied.

The dragon sends one claw at Lith and another at Zhen. Terrible, terrible rolls. For me. You guys are fine.

Hah, the bloodied icon on the dragon is huge. He is at least 300% more bloodied than Zhen.[/sblock]

Empathy continues to assault the dragon mentally, although with much less effectiveness this time.

[sblock=ooc]standard: dishearten on dragon (centered on O5 to avoid friends): 8 vs. will for a miss. Ah well - my streak of "better than 9" attacks couldn't keep going forever.

Raijin's electrical aura seems to fade and he looks at the undead beast closely. Composing himself he points his dagger to the ceiling and swings it downwards. Motes of light enlarging to a blazing fall of stars fall on the dragon from above. The burning torrent sears the creature's dead flesh.

[sblock=OOC]Standard: Blazing Starfall 1d20+4=20 Yes! for 1d4+8=11 damage and it is radiant, so the dragon takes 16
