I have a soft spot for the Slaver series, the Desert of Desolation series, Bone Hill, and Barrier Peaks. I voted for a few others as well. I never actually got to play or run a few of the classics (Against the Giants and the rest of those) but am going to be entering the Tomb of Horrors as an epic character shortly. :)

I don't understand what this means.

Answer a question with a question...but I am surprised, you asked, its discussed in your thread.

I think the issue is watching St Cuthbert battle it out with (one of) the main demons at the end.

(two asides: 1) this is how Col Pladoh ran it, but the demon Cuthbert fights may have been different. 2) St Cuthbert is an actual Saint from the north of England. The "cudgel" part may have added later)

But I was just paraphrasing. So the question remains, why is it so great?

Thanks for dropping bye! And I hope you are not that attached to that charecter...

The Slavers and the Giants are my favorite of this list.
My all time favorite though is probably Palace of the Silver Princess only because it is the only module that every character I DMed went thru.

I voted for a few but I will single out a good one that might not get much attention - Against the Cult of the Reptile God. It was a good modual that had a lot of different elements. It had a small town feel like any Stephen King novel, had great opportunities for RPing and had a few conspiracies going on. Then of course, there is a small dungeon crawl. All this for 1-3rd level. It really was quite a great adventure.

I really liked Baltron's Beacon. I believe that it is I7 but I am not sure.

Oh, I had forgotten about that one! That also was a neat adventure; never played it myself, but I ran a couple of groups through it as a DM.

*sigh* This thread is almost making me nostalgic about the "good ole times". ;)

Cheers,

Ravenloft, the Giants, Tomb of Horrors and Temple of Elemental Evil are still vying for top place, with D3, T1 and U1 all in a close race for 5th....

And there are still a lot of votes to be counted...
