Hey [MENTION=6690219]SuperZero[/MENTION]!

Question: when you mention "The fire washed over the two humans and the three half-orcs", is this from the dragon bomb or the burning hand spell?
Just checking that you took Davaros' burning hands into account.

Also, as an FYI to keep in the back of your mind, Davaros gets to attack as a reaction one enemy that comes within his reach every round. His reach is 10ft, so not negligible.

Thanks and cheers,

SG

That was the burning hands. The dragonbomb was the thing that hit the building and splashed the burning oil.

If anything, I was a little generous with the area there.

Yeah, each of those enemies were increadibly quick and deadly with two attacks (possibly 5th level), so the fact that we potentially killed one at all is a pretty good effort really. That burning hands was really effective.

The questions of course remain, who is the man with the emerald cloak, what the dickens is a dragonbomb and why did the one toothed lady call her dog SAUCE? Why SAUCE? I MUST KNOW!?!

NPCs don't usually follow PC class and level rules but monster creation rules. They often have weaker attacks but the Multiattack ability, which is generally more limited than Extra Attack.

Sauce is actually named in the adventure.

Kincaid's History check to see if he knows about the Black Horses:

Oh, I see, it's not about the Black Horses after all.

Y'wanna know about the Black Horses? Sure.

Make just one check, and open any boxes you beat:

[sblock=Int (History) DC 12]The Black Horses are a disreputable band of mercenaries (they mostly prefer "bounty hunters"). There are about 25 members, mostly humans and half-orcs. Their leader is a human man named Renard Woodsman.

They all wear armbands marked with a black horse device and a word written in a strange tongue. It says "Black Horse".

[sblock=DC 15]Kathor Danava, the second-in-command, only recently signed on. One can't help but notice that he has the same surname as General Danava who leads the Ragesian army near Gate Pass.

Kathor is in charge of the mission for the Ragesian inquisitors, monitoring and capturing known spellcasters.

The armbands don't say "Black Horse"; they actually say "murderers" in Ignan. None of the Black Horses can read Ignan, and thus far nobody has told them of the tailor's joke.

[sblock=DC 20]Kathor Danava is the son of General Danava. He left the Ragesian army after suddenly manifesting magical powers and fearing he would be taken by the inquisitors. He joined up with the first outfit he found that had need of his skills.

He regretted it immediately. First of all, the mission turned out to be completely useless for getting away from the inquisitors. Secondly, he hates both Woodsman and the mission, thinking both are utterly dishonorable.

He doesn't really understand how his magic works.
(In the original adventure he casts in armor and doesn't know what causes his spells to fail. Since you can cast in armor you're proficient in in 5E, I changed that to him not using shield properly.)[/sblock][/sblock][/sblock]
