I just started writing some deliberately cheesy 40k fanfic to send to a friend and have come up with some rules that will ensure your fanfic stays strictly within the classification of "Grim-dark."
1) The facial expression of a the main character in your stories should only ever show one of two possible emotions. Contempt or rage. Rage for killing, which should comprise 90% of the story, and contempt for everything else, including love making.
2) All characters must have Russian sounding names to keep inline with the Stalinist-chik feel of the 40k universe. This is especially true for members of the Inquisition.
What other rules can you think of?
