Winner Announced! Halfing Haiku contest! [The Hamlet of Thumble]

Macbeth

First Post
Halfling Haikus:

Halflings resemble,
but are legally distinct from,
hobbits (take that Tolkein).

A barrel of mead
bread, cheese, meat, lettuce, and fixings:
makes a halfling snack.

How can a creature
that eats so much every day
still be skinny and short?

And, just for kicks, a Halfling limerick:

There once was the hamlet of Thumble,
who's halflings were not rough and tumble,
they never fight,
and to their invaders' delight,
they always seem prone to bumble.

Big trouble ahead!
Monsters on the loose? Heck no!
Oven is broken.

----------

Eat, halflings, eat, eat!
We have to feed our guest well!
And a dragon comes.

----------

Why do guards use spears?
Well because in time of peace,
They serve as a spit.

----------

In town of Thumble,
Halflings travel easily.
They just roll around.

-----------

Well that was fun. :)

I just really like Hiku. :D

Pies cool at windows.
Enticing smells waft through town.
Of course we're all rogues!

Shire of Thumble,
Always a delightful place,
Lively and serene.

Would it completely burst your bubble to find out that **MOST** haikus follow a 5/7/5 pattern, not a 5/8/5 pattern?

Unless someone's not telling me something.

Well in this case sir
I myself count five, eight, six.
But it's still funny.

Is somebody not telling you that the "take that Tolkien" hiku DOES follow the 5/7/5 pattern? :D

My halfling haiku,
though possibly incorrect,
is still damn funny.

Seriously, I think I just miscounted while posting, but I have heard of 5/8/5 haiku. definately not as common, and probably inicorrect, but there is a precedent.
