Marrgash curses when the Perytons appear and attack so quickly. "I've been having enough trouble trying to climb here without this..." he mutters to himself. When Merri falls he lets out a cry, before realising that maybe, at least, he can stop his futile attempts at climbing the cliff face, at least for now.

"Merri!" he calls out to his companion, "We need you now. Be strong."

As Merri came to, he turns his attention to the Peryton that had flown close enough to hear him. "Run and hide, my feathered foe," he calls out. "Come and fight me here, and you'll soon know your mistake." With that, he tries once more to climb and join his companions on the ledge above.

The swooping and dropping attack happened so fast, Merri barely had time to scream before she was knocked unconscious. Friendly images of her childhood friends played at the edges of her consciousness... bunnies playing in fields... feeding deer by the stream...

Then the image of a hawk with a stag head bursts in and tears them all to pieces.

Marrgash's magic brings Merri back from unconsciousness.

"Ouch. Thanks Marrgash. Paws, I think I'm going to need your help."

Merri stands up, places the figurine she found in the cave next to her and holds her hand over it. Her allies, now used to feeling her emotional rollcoaster, feel a powerful psionic push of warmth and care. The figurine responds by growing to the size of a large obsidian dog, which stands next to Merri.

Ilex attempts to get on the ledge right above her and though she manages to not fall she does not make the ledge on her first try. Having dislodged the loose rocks, Ilex finds a solid hand hold and pulls herself up on the ledge and moves into the cave to try to avoid being grabbed and dropped like a clam on the beach. With a snap of her fingers Ilex causes a rock further in the cave to give off light, illuminating the cave from within.

The tiny creature sprinkles some choking dust on the climbing Marrgash, who floats akwardky to the ledge.

Safe for a moment within the shelter of the cave, Lenyara growled softly to herself as she waited for the strange creatures to move closer...

The pixie dust does what his owns strength could not, and lifts Marrgash to the ledge overhead.

Two of the beasts are attracted to the light, following Ilex into the cave. The dart in and out, trying to injure here and then perching themselves at the cave mouth to keep their meal from escaping.

Using a moment of distraction as the nearest creature fights the onyx dog, the tiny winged horror jumps on hm and starts pulling out it's feathers in a manic frenzy. The Peryton finally shakes it off, but it's lost a good handful of them. As a distraction, the deranged pixie throws the feathers right into the peryton's face as it tries to counterattack.
