Ilex moves up to get a clearer view of where Merri landed when she fell. She does not want to hit Merri (or Caim for that matter)with the blast. Once her target is chosen (a patch of scratches in the moss around the tree that resemble a M12) Ilex focuses her energy, then releases it hoping to catch the overgrown tumble weed in the resulting blast. Looking up after successfully hitting the target location, Ilex see more of the swarm turn black and crumble but not enough to free Merri.
Can anyone reach Merri to pull her out? It heals its self every time it feeds off her.

GM: Has Merri spent her second wind yet? If not it can be activated with a DC 10 Heal check as a standard action. Otherwise you should still have a few more curative potions (Though that's not guarantee to save her given the amount of damage the swarms do.) It has 13 hit points left if you think you can do enough damage. Otherwise, it's up to you to come up with something clever.

Blood and sweat soaked Nalkyr's vestments. His palms sweated - despite the cold - and his grip on his feyblades felt greasy. Still, there was a member of the group in danger, and Nalkyr saw little option to it.

Tempest against swarm. For all Nalkyr's usual confidence, things had not gone his way lately. It was, he knew, going to hurt.

The young eladrin skated forward, hacking and slashing inelegantly at the frustratingly intangible mass of things.

GM: The swarm was prone, so Nalkyr's first attack actually hit.


Nalkyr's Damage Roll (1d6+3=4)

Vicious and bloodthirsty, the twig blights are still living creatures that seek to survive and thrive. They crawl and scatter hoping that a few of them can prosper somewhere else.

Nalkyr's OA: Melee Basic Attack (1d20+9+2=17, 1d6+5=7)

Some kill what you can reach, but there are still too many for you to catch them all, while others tend to the wounded.

The clearing is quiet, leaving you bruised battered, and suffering scars, both physical and mental.

GM: Due to her harrowing experience, Merri has gained Dread: Plants. Merri is -2 to attack creatures with the plant keyword and the first time during an encounter she spots a plant creature, she is dazed (save ends). This phobia can be removed with a Remove Affliction ritual (as a level 5 effect), but a sense of unease around plants will always linger with her.


GM: End of combat!
