The AD&D DM Adventure Log

Remember the old AD&D DM Adventure Log?

http://www.acaeum.com/ddindexes/miscpages/miscscans/dmlog2nd.html

The adventuring party listed on the inside cover has always interested me. Was this a snapshot of a real party? A real adventure? Or just names and stats and stuff made up for an example? I recognize some of the Player names, and I recognize some of the character names from other products. I just love the character names -- I'd love to know what 9802 means?

Looking at the information given on these pages:

They have a good tactical marching order.

They're all around 7th level, and they're still using torches and lanterns? Didn't everyone have continual light stones? The spell was free to cast!

Look at that haul of loot!

A PC, and maybe the whole party, talked to a god!?

Power up for Morgan!

Poor Sister Rebecca. I hope they got her raised.

Illysio Morningstar, at least, was a real character. Steve Marsh sold the original character sheet in an ebay auction a couple years ago. There was a thread at dragonsfoot where the person who won the auction posted Illysio's stats -- IIRC she had a 3 Wisdom! :D

* nostalgia *

Makes me wonder if I could 3.5 this sheet like someone did with the "red box" basic D&D character sheet.

Look, multiclassing viable!

Characters of this level meeting gods? That must have been a group of munchkins! ;)

You can get that online somewhere. I have a copy downloaded to my hard drive, but don't remember where I got it from. I can post it here if any are interested.

I completely forgot I had posted this.

So it's possible that this whole party, and maybe the adventure were real. Very cool.

I wonder why Black Dougal was always the example of a PC biting the dust?

This, added with the Example of Play in the red book where he blows his disarm traps roll and dies from poison...

Poor guy.
