Correct. GSL is per product line, not per company. For example, we could do 4e adventures or even a 4e monster book, and still do Tome of Horrors for 3.x or Pathfinder. If we ever do a Tome 4e, we can never do another Tome for 3.x or Pathfinder or any OGL...ever. Even if/after the GSL is terminated.

Grazzt, you show up as an administrator on my screen. Is this new, a bug, or have I missed that all along?

Clearly Paizo has been writing better adventures, no argument from me. I loved Dungeon and was sorry to see it leave Paizo's very capable hands. When it comes to an entire RPG it remains to be seen, this is Paizo's first foray into this realm, but I do expect it will be a very good game. The final complexity of the game, and how it will mesh with my exisiting 3.5 adventures and splatbooks is a big part of if I will buy the final product or not. Hopefully Paizo has legs to weather decreased sales of 3.5 product while they work to get this out.

Then you need to go back in this thread and read Erik Mona's post about PAthfinder subscriptions have increased every week since the release of 4E. So I think we can rest easy about Paizo surviving.

I appreciate the sentiment (and agree with it!), but it is worth pointing out that our sales have _increased_ since the announcement and launch of 4e, and we have more paid Pathfinder subscribers now than at any point in the product's history.

I know a lot of publishers have seen a slump in their 3.5 sales, but this has not happened to us.

Full steam ahead!

I too hope for 4e stuff from Paizo. A big "meh" about SKR joinging the staff...He's pretty hit and miss as far as product go IMHO

I am very happy with SKR joining paizo, its a a good fit...

Also this page looks really bad, i can't see what I am typing...., where do you file bugs?

To Erik and the guys @ Paizo... I commend you guys on sticking with what you are passionate about and committing to what must have been a difficult choice. The fact that your subscriptions are going up would be a strong indicator that this is indeed a whole new ballgame in the RPG market, and that 3.x/d20 systems will continue as a suportable and profitable wing of that market.

I myself am a C&C player and fan, and don't see 3rd party publishers who don't align with the 4e GSL sufferring because of this.

In fact, competition is good... healthy competition drives quality and is the heart of free market business. The better you guys make Pathfinder, it will not only be good for Paizo but will continue to push others - perhaps even WotC.

The OGL was a great thing, but also drove a "bubble" of publishing in which "competition" was lost as everyone was making money for a few years just by putting anything out with a d20 logo.... when the bubble burst, those that couldn't compete disappeared, those that can are still around.

So my best wishes for your success and to continue offerring quality d20 material for your customers!

:D
