The Retaking of Forgehold OOC-4E (Full)

Ugh, so monster equipment's only function is as loot? :hmm:

Guess its not a typo in the MM, just a head scratcher.

Combat stats in IC thread said:
Name (AC/F/R/W)
Slinger (13,12,14,12)
Kobold(15,11,13,11)
Dragon Shield(15,11,13,11)
Wyrmpriest(15,11,13,11)
Drake(16,11,14,13)

Should that be? AC 18; Fortitude 14, Refl ex 13, Will 13;

Or are the ones in the adventure different?

Does it really matter? Is giving them a -1 "wimpy" racial penalty to AC any worse really?

Oh and yeah and those were huge typoes on my part. heh.

You know I'm supposed to deduct the value of anything you discover or make money on from the pre-alloted level 1 treasure pool right? It barely counts as loot.

As mundane equiment, are we even allowed to sell it? If you can't use something, and you cannot sell it does it actually have a value?

Keep in mind. These are "DMG" Rules. These are fuzzy rules. They are suggestions and guidelines. It'sd not gonna break the system for you to make 50gp.

Here is the idea... There is a certain amount of treasure heroes should get before reaching the next level. The 4E system assigns this in to 10 lumps, the DM should divide them between the encounters as he sees fit. All gold gain should b e taken from these parcels.

Try this one. I'm 99% cetain that according to the designers, the Kobold Dragonshields Tactics shift when an enemy moves adjacent is defeats charging. it triggers off the movement into that square and the DS can shift away, kinda making that ability really annoying. I may use the "charge is one action" rule even though I think it violates RAI.

I'd like to post the next combat tonight. I will need a general idea of how you enter the room. Assume you move in through a 5 foot wide tunnel and it opens into a cavern. If you decide to chase down the kobold that tried to slip away, that's fine we can try skill challenges, then get back to the next room. either way is cool with me.

Mal goes in first. If the dragon beats all our initiatives and charges while we are still in the tunnel, we'll need to push him back in order to get a fighting chance. Mal's at-will tide of iron could be useful for that.

I think all meele combattant should all pile at the front. We are a group of six; Once we reach the exit of the tunnel, if the fight begins right away at that point, the rearmost guy essentially needs his whole move action just to get out of the tunnel. If that person is a melee combattant (And they all have a move of 5) holding a rear defence, he might have just wasted one round.
