HeartyDwarf

First Post
For anyone who knows about 40k or Warhammer Fantasy,
I decided on a slayer for a character.

Hes going to be my next character.:D
I planned out to about 12th level and I think hes fun.

Dwarf Fighter
2 Large Dwarven Waraxes (Dm said so) :DD

Feats:(#= the level gained)
1.Monkey Grip (able to hold next large weapons as if a meduim sized weap.)
1.Oversized 2-weapon fighting (One-handed weapons count as light)
2.TWF
3.Weapon focus
4.weapon specialization
6.Improved TWF
6.Combat expertise
8.Melee Weapon mastery (slashing)
9. Greater TWF (if high enough DEX)
10.Cleave
12.Greater weapon speicalization
12.Great clave.

I expect im in light armor, umm, and tough-like a dwarf.
lol

1) Oversized TWF has TWF as a prerequisite, as I recall, so you need to take it at 1st level instead of either OTWF or Monkey Grip.

2) Cleave and Great Cleave have Power Attack as a prerequisite.

3) Greater Weapon Specialization has Greater Weapon Focus as a prerequisite.

4) Melee Weapon Mastery, as I recall (I could be wrong) has a minimum BAB requirement that cannot be met at 8th level.

Again, I could be wrong, but as I recall, you cannot use an oversized weapon in your off-hand with Monkey Grip.

In other words, a Dwarf can use a one-handed weapon in his off-hand with OTWF, but even with Monkey Grip, he couldn't use a size L one-handed weapon in his off-hand. He'd still be able to use such a weapon in his main hand, however.

(As I recall, that's one difference between the Powerful Build racial attribute and the Monkey Grip Feat.)

If your DM is using Forgotten Realms material, you might be able to use the Heavy Weapon feat from Magic of Faerun. It lets you use a weapon made of alchemically treated Platinum or Gold with proficiency- in your PC's case, the Dwarven Waraxe- and gives a similar bonus to being the next size class larger. And I do believe you can use a Heavy Weapon with your off-hand.

So lets try this:

1. TWF
1. Oversized 2-weapon fighting (One-handed weapons count as light)
2. Weapon focus
3. Power Attack
4. Weapon specialization
6. Improved TWF
6. Cleave
8. Great Cleave.
9. Greater TWF (if high enough DEX) or Heavy Weapon: Dwarven Waraxe (if MoF allowed). If neither is possible, accelerate the feats below.
10. Greater Weapon focus
12. Greater Weapon specialization
12. Melee Weapon mastery (slashing)

I once played a slayer too though I went a bit different route. Can't remember exactly what everything was but basically it was multiclass Fighter/Barbarian/Frenzied Berserker. Pretty effective killing machine though somewhat dangerous to his friends. If you want to try this build, you should consult the others in the group first, since it is possible that they don't want such a character in the party. Otherwise Danny's suggestion seems pretty solid.

A Barbarian/Fighter mix might be better thematically...and you simply can't argue with the potency of Rage in combat.

Depending upon your exact build, you'd lose some of the higher end feats- the Greater Weapon Focus and GW Spec; Melee Weapon Mastery; possibly Greater TWF or Hvy Weapon.

But with the first 8 Feats in place coupled with Rage? You're OMAC! (One Man Army Corp- an old DC comics comic.)

So...

PC 1, Ftr1. TWF
PC 1, Ftr1. Oversized 2-weapon fighting (One-handed weapons count as light)
PC 2, Ftr2. Weapon focus
PC3 Ftr2/Brb1. Power Attack
PC3 Ftr2/Brb1. Fast movement,
PC3 Ftr2/Brb1. Rage 1/day
PC4 Ftr3/Brb1. ---
PC5 Ftr4/Brb1. Weapon specialization
PC6 Ftr4/Brb2. Improved TWF
PC6 Ftr4/Brb2. Uncanny dodge
PC7 Ftr4/Brb3. Trap sense +1
PC8 Ftr5/Brb3.---
PC9 Ftr6/Brb3. Cleave
PC9 Ftr6/Brb3. Great Cleave.
PC10 Ftr6/Brb4. Rage 2/day
PC11 Ftr7/Brb4. ---
PC12 Ftr8/Brb4. Greater TWF (if high enough DEX) or Heavy Weapon: Dwarven Waraxe (if MoF allowed). If neither is possible, Extra Rage (can be taken multiple times)
PC12 Ftr8/Brb4. Extra Rage or one of the other Rage Feats, like Extend Rage.

(BTW, I was wrong when I said "Melee Weapon Mastery, as I recall (I could be wrong) has a minimum BAB requirement that cannot be met at 8th level." Its BAB requirement is +8. My bad!)
