OOTS 595 up

Well, that was awesome. V shouldn't get off scott-free for it, though - some form of penance is in order.

I suggest twelve hours' enforced meditation.

Teensy spoilers for Heroes:

Generally I'm in favor of prison rather than execution. But if the person is announcing their intention to keep doing bad things once they're free, and the odds are highly likely any effort to stop that person from more killing will result in people dying anyway, and if there is no way to ensure the person doesn't get away, then yes, execution is okay.

Normal people don't have super-powers, or villainous organizations they are in charge of, so I almost never approve of killing a normal person as 'justice.' But if you can teleport or turn invisible, you ain't gonna stay captured long; the goal of rehabilitory incarceration will fail outright, so we have to look for another solution. "Super prisons" seldom work, because they necessarily require isolating the inmates and minimizing prisoner-guard interaction, which just makes the super-prisoners more resentful should they get free.

I view V's actions as firmly Chaotic, most-likely Good. Screw the law; just make sure the bad guy can't harm anyone else. (Alternately, as Chaotic Neutral: screw the law; just make sure the bad guy doesn't get in the way of saving the day.)

Lol

LOL, nice funny strip, and unexpected change of the story. And another idea on how to use Gust of Wind, but better AFTER checking the remains with Detect Magic...;)

[sblock]V didn't kill him because he was evil or he needed killing, V killed Kubuto because Kubuto's actions were impeding an objective V rated as extremely important, and because Kubuto's monologue just detailed how Kubuto could not be removed as an impediment through non violent means. Its how V thinks. Objective -> Analysis -> Efficient Solution that takes into account all known factors.

The only unknown that V is dealing with is whether or not Elan is willing to lie and say that Kubuto drowned when V capsized Kubuto's boat. If Elan is willing to lie, none of the paladins need know this happened. Expect the next strip to show V explaining to Elan that the greater good is served by lying, or at least by keeping his mouth shut while V lies.[/sblock]

That won't work. Elan is too stupid to keep it up, even if he has the modifier. And V's negative charisma modifier (and lack of bluff as a class skill) is well known.

V is awesome.

Love how this strip has ignited a firestorm of debates about V's alignment. Personally, I am thinking - True Neutral (earlier editions) or Unaligned (4e). Totally in character for her/him, V rocks.

Anyone else wondering about that prophecy and the four words?
