• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

Name one thing you love and one thing you hate about 4e D&D

Love
The HP and healing mechanics, especially Second Wind and Short Rests. Now characters don't need a magic-medic after every fight to move on with the adventure.

Hate
No random treasure tables.

Just one in each, huh? Hmm...

Love
Ease of GMing

Hate
-Some- of the major concepts of the core world (the planar setup, for instance) and forcing that model into existing worlds (FR).

Love: The relative balance between the classes.

Hate: The core world as presented, and the horror of it being used in the various settings. I mean, FR had a cosmology and history why did it need to be folded into the core mold? This is one reason I don't want to see them do any other existing settings, their core assumptions and cosmology aren't that interesting to me.

Oh well, I had more Loves (or Likes really) but I don't want Mustrum to yell at me. :)

Love: How much easier DMing is. They have cut back 90% of the boring math tedium that 3e had.

Hate: That The Worm That Walks became the Larval Mage.

Love
They finally have the long-lived races age in a way that it makes sense for them to be adventuring with the non-long-lived races.

Dislike
I still cannot wrap my mind around daily or even sometimes encounter-only powers that are not spells or magical effects.

Love: The classes are more fun to play. Fighter & cleric tried so far.

Hate: 4e Economics. and the lack of books, although I'm sure won't be a problem forever.

Just in case someone should point her here, I want to state that I only really love my wife and daughter. :p

Love: That every class runs by the same system
Hate: That every class runs by the same system

Yeah, that made perfect sense.
