CCF refused D&D donations

*sigh...

As a Christian Gamer, I normally find myself trying to defend Christians when some over-zealous gamer starts to slam them as intollerant of our hobby. This however leaves even me with nothing to say in defense.

Over on a similar thread to this one on RPG.net, a Christian gamer wrote a really eloquent letter IMO to CCF. I'd base any correspondence off that one, its pretty good stuff.

I'm going to double check that CCF is the specific Fund that we donate to first, when I get home from work this afternoon.. That would be embarrassing if I am getting CCF mixed up with another organization.

If that turns out to be the case, I think a letter would be in order. They might want some statistics on the estimated number of Americans that actively play D&D (I read somewhere around a million) and how many of them are normal people who have an education, and a family, and want to help take care of the unfortunate. Many of them are even of the same faith (though many of us also are not). Finally, I would probably consider giving your money to a different charity and mention this in the letter. Let them know that you find this situation sad and unnecessary.

I'd write them myself, but as a non-Christian, my ethos with them would be lacking.

Hmmm, on their website they specifically mention a visit by a former Mattel executive on the news page. Somebody should tell them that Mattel makes Masters of the Universe toys.
