24 - 4e style (closed)

That link didn't work initially but I just tried and it does now.

Pretty impressive!

Yeah the Enworld wiki has a nasty habit of loging you out until you manage to get in once or clear your cache. I did a lot of work on the template for L4W and wanted to use it for more 4e characters, glad you like it :)

I am too tired to finish the math right now. I have recorded all choices in my WIP sheet.

At a very quick glance, after entering the data in the spreadsheet, I think your AC yould be 1 point lower. Assuming Drakescale, which is legal at your level (AC 8), a +2 drakescale gives AC 23 at level 6.

On the plus side, All your defenses should be 1 point higher at 20 for fortitude and 16 for reflex and will.

Everything else seems fine.

The idea of this game has been reminding me of something (other than 24) but I couldn't figure out what until today.

A couple of books by Simon R Green - the 'Hawk and Fisher' series. They are police captains in a huge city (DnD type) Although it isn't DnD, the city has everything you would expect to find, vampire smugglers, werewolf assassins, crime lords, undead, even gods (the Street of the Gods is full of temples - many of which have 'real' gods! One of the stories even has a serial killer who kills gods!)

There is a 'magical clean-up squad', experimental magic weapons (usually unlicensed.) Instead of a Chloe there are magical 'alerts' which ring in your head e.g. "A large crowd of undead have just burst from the sewers in the dock area - deal with it will you?"

He has other books as well, my favourites being "Blue Moon Rising" and Return to the Blue Moon."

Nice. :)

On a related note... Quicksilver Rising by Stan Nicholls also starts out with a squad taking on a group of smugglers (drugs in that case), and is also fantasy (with a big modern touch, basically magic substitutes for todays technology). :)

Bye

Yeah, I added in my reflex bonus and forgot to boost to drakescale.

What spreadsheet do you use?

I can't believe I'm this bad at D&D math. Especially in 4th Edition.

Of course my wife makes me do the math for her character's when it gets messy. Then decides to play a 15th level Druid/MoMF/Warshaper... It's been 2.5 years that I've been supposed to level that character.

This

It is very complete but has a weird and basic bug; this late in the process (they have added AV items!) the fighter still can't choose the two handed fighting option! But I entered you with a warhammer and gave you no shield and statwise, except for the damage, it's the same thing.

Quicksilver and 'Hawk and Fisher'...

Never even heard of it. The Salt intro I took from a very peripheric plot point of the novel I'm trying to write (So basically I'm ripping myself off!) and I had the idea from perusing (but not reading) the history book 'A History of Salt'.

These sounds like the kind of book I enjoy. I have hardly read anything beside teh Harry Potter serie the last few years, trying to get back to it. Right now though it's the James Bond novel I am reading, starting with Casino Royale. I wonder if the influence will creep in...

as posted in character a basic dire wolf's stats are ac 19, fort 18, refl 17, will 16, 67 hps. Provided that Mal is using those stats Leyra misses, but Mirage hits and the wolf is down to 57hps.

Garrick's already hit him for 23 damage too, so I think the Dire Wolf (if he's of standard breed) should have 34 HP and not be bloodied...though he's darn close.
