I have actually thought about Wolverine being a barbarian/fighter/frenzied berserker. Modified bladed gauntlets*adamantine - keen, skeleton giving him either DR or fortification due to not being able to hi vital organs and such.

Batman - was thinking rogue/monk or paladin due to his code

Urban Ranger/Monk

Epic level fighter

Of course, many of them have non-class related features- such as racial characteristics, special items or technological resources- that make them more than just typical members of their classes.

Hal Jordan? He was a test pilot & member of an intergalactic police force. That he makes things with his mind is entirely due to his use of an artifact-level device- his ring.

But the essence of what the character is- his skills, his personality, his outlook- is all Hal Jordan. The only reason he has power is because of an artifact- no different than any other D&D magic item.

And its an artifact that anyone of any class could have used had they been summoned by Abin Sur (the alien who gave him the ring)- D&D class doesn't matter here. Had he been a cleric, a wizard, a rogue, or a bard, it wouldn't matter as long as he had the characteristics necessary to join the GL Corp- namely fearlessness and a strong willpower.

Lets look at the other Green Lanterns of Earth (except the original one from the 40s): First of all, Hal Jordan was the ring's second choice. Guy Gardner (Rogue/Fighter) was the first, but Jordan was closer and Abin Sur was dying. John Stewart (Artificer) also qualified. Then came Kyle Rayner (Bard).

IOW, anyone can use the ring if qualified, regardless of class, and the ring is the source of the "kewl powers."

I was referring to Kilwog, the only awsome green lantern and it could be a prestige class
