Weird Dreams

I think I had the weirdest of all weird dreams last night. I wasn't even in it; dreamt from third person perspective (movie style).

There was a large meteor that impacted with a plane, the meteor caused the water level in the oceans to rise tremendously causing 500 foot tall waves to impact with land. There were very few pockets of land that remained dry.

Over the course of millenia, crabs gained in size until that had no natural predators, not even sharks could compete with them. Eventually they took to land and overthrew the humans that survived and remained.

The crabs started to kill the humans and loved the taste, and continued their reign agaisnt the human species. Eventually, the humans were all eaten and nothing was left of our species except the few buildings that remained.

EARTH HAS CRABS!

Yesterday, we mistakenly informed you that Earth has Crabs. This is incorrect. Earth has carbs, which go great with our new, lobstery overlords and butter.

Over the course of millennia, lobsters gained in size until that had no natural predators, not even sharks could compete with them. Eventually they took to land and overthrew the humans that survived and remained.

Wow, that is pretty bizarre.

I had a dream last week were I was late for everything by 4 hours. It wasn't that I arrived late but was on time only be told by someone that it ended 4 hours ago. There were 3 different times within the dream this happened. One of them I remember. A friend and his girlfriend were trying to clean my pool. It was middle of winter and the water was frozen. I guess that's why they had the shotguns, to break the ice.lol I walked up to my friend and talked a moment and he told me I missed the game because it ended 4 hours before.

I woke up and went back to sleep. shortly after that I was in bed talking to someone. She said that I had to get out of bed. I replied that I couldn't because they try to smoother me. As soon as I tried 2 nurses came up and put a pillow over my face and held me down. I could feel the texture of the pillow and the pressure in the dream. Also I could feel how cold it was in the dream about the pool.

Dreamed I was shopping for aquarium fish (I don't currently own an aquarium, but I used to). As I wandered the aisles, the fish I knew gave way to ones I didn't...and many tanks included fish that were getting bigger than is typical for home aquariums.

So I turned to the salesman who had been riiiiiiiiiight by my side, and he was gone- no longer in sight. No, the fish hadn't gotten him- I could still hear him talking to another customer- but he had vanished from beside me down an uninterrupted aisle more than 40' long...POOF!

So I kept looking, turned a corner...and the rest of the store dissapeared. I was in a smallish room full of tanks of fish I didn't recognize, floor to ceiling on each wall. There wasn't even a door.

Then it got weird...they started to sing opera.

...and I wake up.

Awe... I want to be a Lobster cowboy.

Most people get scared by their nightmares, I basically recycle them into RW fiction or adventures.

Huh, someone else does that? I usually don't remember most of my dreams, and I tend to ignore them anyway. But sometimes I dream something that I think would be cool in a game, so I try to write it down somewhere so I don't forget it. I figure if I rip off a movie or a book or something, there's a chance at least one other player will know where I got it. If I rip off my dreams, no one will know where I got it.

I was in this hobby shop and there was a bin full of out of print older edition books. I had a pocketful of cash ($100, for me that's a lot of money) and there were two 1st Edition books that caught my eyes; one titled Zen Wizardry and another one that I couldn't remember the name of.

I seem to have dreams about 1E books that never saw print.

That's a recurring dream theme for me. I'm in a bookstore somewhere, perusing a sweet selection of D&D books. Except that many of those books never existed, and often there's 2e and 3e stuff being sold side by side.

The only time I've ever dreamed about buying books of any kind is kind of...well...

I'm driving around in my neighborhood, late, late at night, looking for a gas station.

I finally find it, and its one of those mega-station truck stops that have everything. And I'm looking at a spinning rack of porn magazines.

And the young lady upon whom I have a crush* is working at the counter 4' away from where I'm standing, is telling me which ones are the best. (And she's being specific as to content.)

When I follow all of her advice, I bring them to the counter and pay...only to find they're all Archie & Ritchie Rich comic books now.

(There is another variant of this dream is essentially the same, but the setting is a huge mega-bookstore, like a B&N or Borders.)

* The first time I had this dream was in college in the mid 1980s. As time has passed, the woman behind the counter always changes to the most current object d'amour in my life.
