L4W Discussion Thread III

We're perennially short on leaders and controllers. I don't have exact numbers to hand at the moment, but I think clerics are the least represented class. Well, except for swordmage; but they're relatively newly allowed, and there are lots of other defenders.

As for races, I don't know that there are any particularly in demand. We allow MM races, so we have a wide variety of races in play. Off the top of my head, the only races represented by more than one or two characters are humans, dwarves, elves, and maybe eladrin. Humans are way out in the lead. There are a handful of races with no characters at all (orc, goblin, githzerai, shadar-kai... probably more), but that's not really a problem. Make whatever race you like.

Actually, the official list makes that out to include eladrin, githyankis, minotaurs, dragonborn, and half-elves. The second-most played race appears to be shared among eladrin, elves, and dwarves.

At any rate, pick whatever race you like. It can't imagine how there would be significant "demand" one way or another in 4E.

Class-wise, controllers is the least filled role. Invokers and druids will add to the numbers, though considering how many of us is going for bards, I'm guessing controllers will still come out the least frequent role for some time.

Are there any specific races or classes in demand right now? I'm toying around with joining Living ENW.
Indeed, make what you'd like. But if you happen to like a Leader, and in particular a monstrous race of some sort, I may just have an open spot in my next adventure which should be starting up in 2-3 weeks.

I just made a new proposal to alleviate a bit of the lack of controllers. No ideas how to address the lack of leaders, though, except to encourage people to make more clerics. (I could propose the Bard-analogue from APG too, except I don't like it very much.)

*rubs hands deviously*

No need to create more controllers and leaders...

*coming from the guy who plays exclusively controllers and leaders*

I like being in high demand!:D

Agreed, although I'm just pumped to deal out some holy vengance. Vengence is just so sweet! It's too bad Ezekial 25:17 is so overused because of pulp fiction.
The actual Ezekiel 25:17 is pretty different than what was given in Pulp Fiction, so you can probably get away with it. But for vengeance-happy prophets, Deuteronomy and Jeremiah are hard to beat. Frex:
Jeremiah 46:10 said:
For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood...
