Good story but I'm hoping that with V at this new power level we're going to see the Order of the Stick actually become the Order of the Stick again.
The problem is that V never wanted the power to help the OotS, he uses as an excuse, as a rationalisation, why he clings to the power. He's totally going down the "the road to hell is paved with good intentions"-path.He knows that he has to stop Xykon and the greater issues of the tear. Roy needs raising, and there's still lots to do. Use the power to get back and help his gang, then let the other two go, pay the price and move on....

V is now the strip's new main Villian.
I don't think so. Actually, I don't think I've ever been more certain about the party never getting back together than I am after this strip. At the very least, V won't be rejoining, ever. She always viewed the rest of the party (save Roy and Hailey) as a complete waste of her time. She'd sooner kill Belkar than ever fight on the same side as him again. She's to proud to say she's sorry to Elan. She's never going to be able to rejoin her family again as a member of it. She has no where to go, except to become a more powerful villian than all members of Team Evil combined. She'll destroy them all and finally become worse than they. She'll continue the work started by Redcload/Xykon of finding a gate and performing some ritual for disgustingly obscene arcane power once she is no longer able to maintain the sould slice.

Um, Objection!
She did humble herself to Elan and said she was sorry: she wouldd even help train him.
But he decided he didn't want to be a wizard anyway.
That would seriously suck and make the strip too much of a downer IMO.
She's not going to go back from that level of pride and say she's sorry.
