Frankly, I remain unconvinced that V's not going to kill Xykon.

I get the impression that the catch to V's contract is that the fiends get control of him while he still lives, rather than after death. Imagine what Xykon and a puppet V can do to the world in 20 minutes.

Well, 1: 40 minutes (and counting)

2: What makes you think the fiends would care if Xykon were killed in the first place, never mind actively working with him?

Lets hope that the big diamond is good for two ressurections...

V will loose. It will likely not kill him, but he won't succeed.

Currently I wouldn't give much abouts Vs high intelligence. After the trance deprivation, his cheerlieading squad and the fact that even with his epic power he was useless except as dragon slayer and OotS taxi while all problems he worked on got solved easily by the rest of the Order I don't think he is sane in his current state.

I think V could totally do it. I mean, have you seen Xykon's 9th level spells? Meteor Swarm, Energy Drain and Soul Bind. Direct damage which V ought to be immune to one way or another, a spell that is utterly worthless compared to MM'ed Enervation, and an out-of-combat spell.

Yeah, I think V might have this one in the bag, unless Xykon cheats somehow. Which I can't imagine him doing at all. (That is, he'll survive, but I won't like it.)

Me too.
I think what might happen is that V will kill Xykon, and Redcloak will step up as the primary antagonist. There's still an army of goblinoids in Azure City, after all.
