My sister is awesome!

Awesome!

Have you begun loading music into it yet?

I really want an ipod but have not decided on the Shuffle or the Nano. Is it easy to put music into it from the computer? What is required?

Megamania, you put the music from iTunes, of course. You don't necessarily need an iTunes Store account, though, but you need iTunes (unless you want to hack it of course).

All of my music I bought as a CD then loaded into the computer. That is the music I plan into putting into the Ipod.

Still need iTunes?

Ya, need itunes for that. That's what I did and it is realy easy.
As already noted, it's really easy. You do have to download and install the iTunes software, which is what took the longest on my PIII 1 GHz.

I don't believe Apple has bundled cds of iTunes for some time now.

If you aren't sold on Apple, try the competition. Sandisk makes a tiny mp3 player, the Sansa clip, that has a small screen and up to 4 GB of space.

You can drop-and-drag music with Windows Explorer.

I still prefer the iPod since it does more than play music, but it's not bad for the price.

Was it new or used? Most new iPods come with a CD unless they've decided CDs are too expensive to include now (which is unlikely, since they only cost a few cents), but most used ones do not because it's not essential.

My 30 GB hard drive iPod "Classic" purchased in December 2006, no cd.
My 8 GB ipod Nano in March 2009, no cd.

I think the packaging has slimmed down, thus no space for a full-size cd.

Thankyou for the help. Since I am on a modem I have a friend that said he could burn a copy of the CD for me to use. Now to raise the 50 dollars I need....

How much do you listen to music Mega?

I'd hate you to blow $50-$79 on a shuffle if you don't listen to all that music. The cheap 3rd party models may work just as well.

Even better the 3rd party stuff is often on sale somewhere. The Apple stuff is almost never on sale. I think Walmart sells them for like $10 less.
