Age of Conan

I picked this up the other day, and will be playing our first game either this coming week or the week after so I don't have any complaints about it or a lot of praise other than it's Conan, and I'm a Conan fanatic so I'm hoping for good things

Has anyone else picked the game up and if so what do you think? It's got a pretty solid 7.5 over at Board Game Geek.

I am a Howard fan too. I have played three games and I really like it. It is about the right level of complexity for me. we have had three games and three different winning countries so I think it is balanced. I hope that there will be an expansion soon

I'm interested in the game, but, due to the Aussie dollar dying against the Greenback, it's hideously expensive - aus$135 from my favourite online store.

(I just bought PHB2 for aus$40...)

So we played our first game last night. We only got through the 1st Age screwed, screwed lots of things up, but it was a learning experience but towards the end we all were starting to get the hang of things. I think the next time we play we'll enjoy it more, but my initial impressions are that this is going to be a fun game, and if you are a fan of Conan and the Hyborea world in general you'll probably like it even more.

The worst part of Kush are all the flies.

REH one of my favorite. Like what they are doing in this game, but unfortunately I lose interest in PC games quickly. The server I was on must have been loaded with annoying players, because, well, they annoyed me.

I quit the game last year. Hopefully it will be succesful.


Looking forward to the Conan movie coming out next couple of years. Hopefully they do it right. They need one finally true to the original stories.

Also the Solomon Kane movie reportedly being made by the guys that did Brotherhood of the Wolf.

so the only downside is Conan himself. I wish he did more then pick up chips and lay down raid tokens. I hope they expand his role in the expansion (I feel sure they will do one

Has anyone played the War of the Rings game. Is it basically a more complex version of conan (with two players)? I looked over the rules at the FFG site and it looks quite different.
