I choose 2e, because were it not for that I probably wouldn't be into table top gaming. I have not played it in a long time, so I'm probably forgetting a lot of the warts, but thinking about it wraps me in a warm happy nostalgia blanket.

Tough call for me. I love D&D, all editions except 2nd (where I was a drunken student and missed the entire thing). In the end, I went with what my heart led me to, and that's all that really matters.

I picked OD&D/1E/2E/BEMCI/Retro Clones, only because I've played them more than 4E. I played 1E & 2E 10 times longer than either 3.5 or 4E, it's where some of my best memories are from.

I am currently obsessed with FATE 3.0. So flexible. So fun. Free. And I get to be pretentious and play an indie game. Otherwise it would be 4e. If the options included "Homebrewed hack using bits of 4e and lots of FATE 3.0, with a little Shadow of Yesterday thrown in for extra pretentiousness." I would have chosen that.
