Mike Mearls has lent his support against PC's with oversized.

Regardless of what you might want, the fact is that the MM writeups are barely playtested placeholders. They should be used with caution and careful consideration. Denying the ones with oversized should be a no-brainer for a game considering any changes whatsoever.

Well thinking positively, when I depose you I get to have twice the fun at the public beheading. They did always say two heads is better then one!

I'll be staying on as judge for now; guess I'm not as burned out as I thought. However, I'll be on the look out for some more judges as time progresses (five is a bare min in my mind, though technically the charter only states three). Regardless of when/whether I step down, I'll still be moderating—so no getting rid of me yet!

I really feel like the value is good enough that you shouldn't give up Elec.

My feeling about it is this. I like the dragon issues and DDI access would be nice. They just don't seem to want to give me a product that works, plain and simple. At this point, I don't trust them even a little bit. I'll just borrow dragons and not have access to the DDI.

This is all well and good. However it's also completely meaningless. If he thought oversized was an issue, then why not errata the MM entry? Since he hasn't, it must not be THAT much of a problem for him.

Because the text is quite clear these are slapdash, "Hey, here's a race writeup" things.

Mike clearly states why the MM doesn't need arrata. The MM articles are for NPC creation, with use as PC's at your own discretion because they were not designed with player balance in mind. If it had been designed as a PC race then sure it would require the errata, but in the incarnation they find in the MM the races were very clearly templated for NPC's and can be potentially unbalancing if allowed for players.

Really it seems to me like they did it up for NPC creation and then as an after thought said "Oh I guess you could make characters with this stuff too, but be careful."

So 'slapdash' that every updated race except the minotaur took 100% of the MM write-up? Sorry, don't buy it.

Lets be 100% honest here. WOTC KNOWS people are using those stats for PC's. WOTC themselves has used everything except oversized in there MM to PC writeup's. If they are going to invalidate the MM writeup, that sounds like errata. It irks me to no end that they aren't supporting part of the MM.
