iPhone App

So Doug over at templelion.com says that Erik Mona's walking around with the prototype Pathfinder iPhone app.

What do you think it might be?

Best case scenario (to me): all the rules in an easily indexed and searchable format. Is that possible? I certainly hope so.

Alternate guesses? Thoughts?

It's still VERY early in the coding stage, but what I've seen of it so far is pretty spiffy!

Right now the core functionality is a "live" character sheet that tracks modifiers and rounds for you. It's also networked, so for example I might cast bless on James, Jason, and Wes, and the appropriate modifiers would appear on their character sheets in real time without them having to do anything. As the rounds count down, the modifiers disappear, etc.

We are so early in the development of this at this point that I may as well turn the question around on you.

What do you WANT the application to do?

As for what else would I like it to do?

Well I have two players in my games who have iPhones but three that do not. It would be nice if the three that do not could access the same functionality from a website on their laptops.

It would also be nice if I could have the effects management component run from a website so that I could use my laptop (which I am already using anyway).

Right now the only time I use my iPhone in session is when my wife calls to tell me something I really didn't need to know right in the middle of a massive fight

I have a Kindle Dx and would like for it to be able to work on it.
I already have the core book loaded and to have a living character sheet on it would be awsome.

Yeah I'd like PfRPG: Char builder and Monster builder ala 4E. That would rock, not for the iPhone (I am not that much of a poseur) but for the PC. And if we could have a live Char Sheet that networks through our wifi HELL YES!

I know Erik is now regretting asking what we'd like it to do lol

but....

yes, if I had all players with some sort of electronic character sheet that automatically tracked ammunition and number of rounds, updating their sheets when an effect expires etc, that would be 100% full of win.

Well, I currently use it to look up rules on d20srd.org to or to google for feats or spells not listed there. I'd like to be able to check the Pathfinder rules on it quickly, so basically I'd like an iPhone formatted PRD.

I'm easy.
