Hello fellow GRONARDS!

Hi! My name is Bob and I am a grognard.

"HI BOB!"
I didn't switch to 2nd,I didn't switch 3.x.

I DID switch to 4th
Anybody else?
(In case your wondering ,the reason I switched was I had too much power creep in my game and thought the best way to fix it was to go 4th.
I hate some of it(wizards)
I love a lot more(warlords,Invokers and the way it makes me think about monsters))

I didn't so much switch, as added it to my repertoire. :) I enjoy the old AD&D as well, and some elements of 4th remind me of it. So, welcome to the forums! (Or back, as the case might be!)

Many years ago I was largely a 1E AD&D grognard, albeit incognito. This had more to do with taking a long hiatus from D&D lasting around 15 years, where I completely missed 2E AD&D and 3E D&D. I got back into D&D after 3.5E, but I was never really all that enamored with the 3.5E rules or settings. It was starting with 4E that I was more hardcore into D&D, similar to how I was heavily into 1E AD&D back in the day.

Not that often,By the time I hit about 1984 RPGs took over my gaming, (. . .)

That's too bad. Lots more good games out there now than there were back then, even.

(. . .) but I used to play Legion and Tractics

Very nice. One of the things I enjoy about 4E are the minis tactics. I still prefer other games more, RPG-wise, but 4E has some fun aspects.
