Hopefully you enjoyed our last column, GenConsternation: A Rant by EN World columnist Ari Marmell. Today we have the first column from the second of our new regular columnists, Erik Mona of Paizo Publishing.

As his introductory article, Erik has aptly entitled the initial entry as
Who the Hell is Erik Mona? It discusses his history in the RPG industry, including anecdotes from his starting days at Wizards of the Coast.

Erik Mona is the publisher of Paizo Publishing, LLC, creators of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and the Planet Stories line of pulp fantasy novels. Mona has won more than a dozen major game industry awards and his writing has been published by Paizo, Wizards of the Coast, Green Ronin Publishing, and The MIT Press.

An avid collector of pulp magazines and old science fiction paperbacks, Mona spends most of his scant free time reading old fiction and posting about it online.

He lives in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington.

Fantastic column, Erik. Actually very heart-warming :). Just love the idea of sending your junior high-era campaign notes into TSR - exactly what lots of us dreamed about doing but never had the guts to chance. Excellent.

No explosion dogs though, eh?. Maybe next time?

:D

Glad you enjoyed the column. It was really fun to write!

awsome job erik...I can so relate to 1st day at a good job causeing an 'incadent' by pushing the wrong button with an already angry co worker...

looking back now it must be atleast a little funny, or you wouldn't have brought it up.

A very enjoyable read. Reminded me much I used to anjoy Erik's editorials in Dungeon.

So now Erik I'm wondering if that BBS post had anything to do you being chosen to work on FR's Faiths & Pantheons. "So Mona knows all about deities does he? Put him to work statting up all those FR gods for us then."
