The Vampire Diaries - what did you think?

I caught the replay on the CW of The Vampire Diaries last night. I was expecting "Dawson's Crypt", but I have to admit it wasn't half bad and I'll watch again this week. I thought it had a little more depth than the movie Twilight. I liked the Bonnie Bennett character (possibly psychic with family going back to the earliest days of Salem, Mass.) played by Katerina Graham. I've never read any of the books (or the Twilight books either), so I'll be interested to see how this show plays out.

On a related note, five of the main actresses were (ahem) busted over the weekend in Atlanta for flashing drivers on the highway from an overpass.

Huh. And here I thought "Dawson's Crypt" was a particularly apt description. Not that there's a problem with that. I'll keep watching... at least for the time being. I thought the pilot was sufficiently intriguing.

Also, this is a perfect opportunity for me to bemoan the lack of a "This thread is worthless without pics" moment...

I found it to be super Dawson's Crypty, too. Moreso than even Smallville.

I'll watch one more, but I suspect it's just not a show for me (even though Smallville is).

Since a cameraman was arrested at the scene too, hopefully if we keep watching and the show doesn't get cancelled, that will soon be rectified!

I'm going to keep watching - for now. I'm not a big fan of the whole vampires in daylight thing, but I like the idea of a ring that allows vampires to do that so long as they are wearing it.

I was a bit bored with it but I'll give it at the least 5 eps, at the most the whole first season before i swear it off.

Death to all weird video players

I tried to watch an episode online. That was a good waste of 10 minutes. The plugin installed in Firefox and played the sample video, then nothing.

Was rather meh. The good guy vampire reminded me of a young Morrisey. Will see where it goes but seems aimed at the Twilight crowd. With the favorable ratings it got doesn't look like it'll go away soon.
