He was and he is supposedly dead too (I think).
But for some reason he has the hair color and Haley's face looks confused/concerned.

Oh... I absolutely agree, I was just expressing an odd instinct I had about that panel.
EDIT: I guess it's because when I look at it for any period of time, take in the other character expressions and look at them in the panels leading up, I see an emotional reaction in the image as Girard appears, like maybe an odd connection between the two somehow.

I think you guys are overanalyzing it a little. I think she's simply more concerned about what's going to happen now that the spell's been triggered.
