[Swordmage] Frigid Blade: One round or two?

Sorry, I re-read the whole power. I was wrong in my initial interpretation. It starts on the opponent's next turn and ends on that same turn, if the conditions are met to trigger that effect.

Just to be clear, here is the hit declaration for Frigid Blade (at-will attack):

At first I was definitely in the two turns camp, but with rereading the power I understand the 1 turn argument.

If the power's effect starts on "the next turn" and ends "at the end of the next turn"....then the power seems to be spamming a single turn.

Normally in 4ese "at the end of the next turn" implies the turn you get after you finish the current one. However, in this case because the power starts on the next turn, then I agree it ends on that same turn as well.

I love polls as much as the next guy, but I don't think they belong in the rules forum. Rules forum should be about debating the rules, not about popular opinion.
Well, if a rule isn't clearly defined and could go either way, 'debating' the rules is exactly that: posting your opinion about it.

But it wasn't a serious suggestion, hence the ;)

It wouldnt be the first time that WotC has caused confusion with needless redundancy.

..the power seems to be spamming a single turn.
Bingo! ;)

Honestly, its a lot of bother for little effect in heroic; I often fail to pester the DM about the speed reduction during play. I'm only using Frigid Blade as an occasional single-target attack anyway. Swordburst gets far more use. Later in paragon, my swordy will be slowing a lot of enemies, and this is where Frigid Blade will be icing the cake by immobilizing them with some regularity.

I think it's valuable to hear other's opinion on these matters just to get a feel for whether the debate really represents what is broader opinion, or just those of a vociferous few. Many rules issues people have are at least partially due to vague wording or contradictions in the rules, so some amount of reasonable-guess interpretation is part of the game.
